        This paper suggests a visual debugging plaftorm based on the game engine, Unity3D for massive parallel processing routines implemented in CUDA. In general, it is tiresome to debug or check the accuracy of numerical geometry information results calculated in a parallel way by GPU; usually, developers would pick and check each numerical value by rummaging overwhelming lines of seemingly meaningless numbers. This manual process is less productive and time-consuming. Also, it is not easy to produce some continuous movements of geometry information to check the validity of implemented CUDA codes for realtime geometry processing applications. To solve those problems, this paper presents a way to use Unity3D game engine to visually and interactively debug CUDA implementations. Also, some practical test results are presented with discussions on limitations of Unity3D as a CUDA debugging platform.

        Purpose: The purpose of this study is to recognize the role and necessity of public data visualization through prior research, investigation, and data verification processes. In addition, this study intends to check what factors should be considered in order to visualize data on the mobile web. Through this process, by identifying the cognitive load affecting information visualization by type, as a result, I would like to propose an effective information visualization method to effectively deliver public data related to government policies. Research design, data and methodology: In this study, we analyzed the case of information visualization according to infographics, which has been widely used in the public field among various visualization methods. For this study, a questionnaire survey was conducted for young people in their 20s and 30s with the highest mobile usage rate. Results: Based on the results, IPA (Importance Performance Analysis) was performed to conduct cognitive load test tools for information visualization of public data and confirmed the implications for each type of infographics. Conclusions: As a result of research, in order to efficiently deliver public data on the mobile web, first, it is necessary to construct a visual screen that can be easily identified through clear data. Appropriate graphic elements can be used according to the type to make it easier for users to acquire and understand information. Second, it is necessary to provide useful content in visualizing information. Third, in order to efficiently transmit information and increase understanding of data, it is necessary to visualize information that can induce interest in data and form metaphors. Fourth, it is necessary to visualize information to reduce cognitive load in terms of physical and mental aspects in order to accommodate users' comfortable information. Fifth, in order to effectively deliver public data, it is necessary to compose contents and information that are easy for users to understand. This study examines effective information visualization methods to increase the communication effect of public data in response to changes in the data-based intelligent information society and suggests implications for each type considering cognitive loads to help future public institutions to communicate and accept information.

        빅데이터와 함께 등장한 학문이 데이터 사이언스(Data Science, 데이터과학)이며 데이터에서 정보(Information)와 지식(Knowledge)을 만들어내는 데이터를 연구하는 학문이다. 데이터 사이언스를 활용한 산출물은 데이터, 코드, 시각화 (Visualization) 결과, 추천, 디지털 서비스 등이며 이들은 서로 상호 작용하며 지속적으로 발전하게 된다. 정보 시각화란 사용자에게 더 효율적으로 정보를 전달하기 위하여 그래픽 요소를 활용하여 데이터가 정보로서 의미가 생성되도록 형상화하는 것을 뜻한다. 자크 버틴(Jacques Bertin)은 그래픽 요소의 활용을 통해 수치적(양적) 데이터 간의 비교나 순서, 비율의 관계 등 복잡한 의미구조를 쉽게 전환할 수 있는 가장 효율적인 표현의 수단이 될 수 있기 때문에 정보를 시각적으로 지각하고 이해하는데 도움을 줄 수 있다고 했다. 사례 연구를 통해 정보 시각화를 위한 그래픽 요소는 단일 요소로 사용되는 것이 아니라 복합요소로 사용되며 특히 시각적 질감을 표현하기 위해서는 투명도와 채도가 유용한 요소로 사용되고 있음을 확인하였다. 본 연구는 정보 시각화의 개선 전후 사례 등을 바탕으로 데이터 사이어스 기반의 정보 시각화의 특성과 그래픽 요소를 중심으로 연구하였으나 향후 정보 시각화에서 형태에 대한 은유적 표현 및 은유적 표현을 위한 조형의 원리에 대한 연구가 필요하다.

        To address the increase of weather hazards and the emergence of new types of such hazards, an optimization technique for three-dimensional (3D) representation of meteorological facts and atmospheric information was examined in this study as a novel method for weather analysis. The proposed system is termed as “meteorological and air quality information visualization engine” (MAIVE), and it can support several file formats and can implement high-resolution 3D terrain by employing a 30 m resolution digital elevation model. In this study, latest 3D representation techniques such as wind vector fields, contour maps, stream vector, stream line flow along the wind field and 3D volume rendering were applied. Implementation of the examples demonstrates that the results of numerical modeling are well reflected, and new representation techniques can facilitate the observation of meteorological factors and atmospheric information from different perspectives.

        In the midst of disaster, such as an earthquake or a nuclear radiation exposure area, there are huge risks to send human crews. Many robotic researchers have studied to send UGVs in order to replace human crews at dangerous environments. So far, two-dimensional camera information has been widely used for teleoperation of UGVs. Recently, three-dimensional information based teleoperations are attempted to compensate the limitations of camera information based teleoperation. In this paper, the 3D map information of indoor and outdoor environments reconstructed in real-time is utilized in the UGV teleoperation. Further, we apply the LTE communication technology to endure the stability of the teleoperation even under the deteriorate environment. The proposed teleoperation system is performed at explosive disposal missions and their feasibilities could be verified through completion of that missions using the UGV with the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team of Busan Port Security Corporation.

        This study aimed at establishing the multi-ranged approach on data acquisition technique for rural landscape planning, which tried categorization, grading and transferring of landscape elements in the more detailed level. For the systematic management of database for the topographic informations in the village level, a kind of the aerial photographing techniques with UAV(Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) was used and its resultant data for the landscape simulation of the rural village, which in turn helped the convenient approach to understanding of its comprehensive spatial structure. The image data from aerial photography was systematically processed through; First, after revision of the distorted one, the image map was adjusted with the topographical and cadastral maps. Second, the farm houses and buildings, and other facilities difficult to find out in the topographical map was digitally read from the adjusted image. The topographical landscape view of rural village was simulated on the base of DEM(Digital Elevation Model) and the 3-dimensional shapes of farm houses and buildings were automatically modelled using the input system developed by the author. In conclusion, the aerial image information adjusted with the edited maps could give more intuitive and detailed villagescape than the ordinary one and through landscape simulation of the rural village, its topography, features of houses/buildings and spatial distribution of land uses were effectively reproduced. And, by the linkage between field survey and photographed/simulated results of the typical landscape elements using hyper-link method, it would be expected to develop as an effective visualization technique of rural landscape.

        The purpose of this study is to suggest the landscape potential index for visualizing landscape information in the conservation of hilly landscape in urban fringe. For the visual and quantitative approach to topological landscape assessment, numerical entity data of DEM(digital elevation model) were processed with CAD-based utilities that we developed and were mainly focused on analysis of visibility and visual sensitivity. Some results, with reference in assessing greenbelt area of Eodeung Mt. in Gwangju, proved to be considerable in the landscape assessment of suburban hilly landscapes. 1) Since the viewpoints and viewpoint fields were critical to landscape structure, randomized 194 points(spatially 500m interval) were applied to assessing the generalized visual sensitivity, we called. Because there were similar patterns of distribution comparing to those by 56 points and 18 Points given appropriately, it could be more efficient by a few viewpoints which located widely. 2) Regressional function was derived to represent the relationships between probabilities of visibility frequency and the topological factors(topological dominance, landform complexity and relational aspect) of target field. 3) Visibility scores of each viewpoint were be calculated by summing the visual sensitivity indices within a scene. The scores to the upper part including ridge line have been more representative to overall distributions of visual sensitivities. Also, with sum of deviations of sensitivity indices from each single point's specific index to the weighting values of view points could be estimated rotationally. 4) The deviational distributions of visual sensitivity classes in the topological unit of target field were proved to represent the visual vulnerability of the landform. 5) Landscape potential indices combined with the visual sensitivity and the DGN(degree of green naturality) were proposed as visualized landscape information distributed by topological unit.
