        Bongsu(Beacon Fire Station) is a facility that sends signals with fire and smoke and has been used in Korea since the Three Kingdoms period. This facility was installed to know the north and south crises. This trend continues until the Joseon Dynasty, and it has been somewhat completed in the 17th century. In previous studies, beacon fire was identified mainly from the border area to Hanyang. Based on this, it was classified into Gyeongbongsu, Yeonbyeonbongsu, and Naejibongsu. However, it is difficult to define the characteristics of beacon fire in coastal areas only with this classification. In the case of beacon fire in island areas, there was a tendency to value communication connection within the region rather than connection with the capital. As a case analysis for this, an academic review was conducted with the cases of Ganghwa Island and Jeju Island. As a result, it was confirmed that the role and character of the beacon vary depending on the defense system and the physical distance from the land, even if it has the topographical commonality of the same island.

        PURPOSES : When fire event occurs in tunnel the reinforced concrete is exposed to very high temperature at a very short time period. This study investigates the tensile behavior of steel rebar that experienced high temperature. METHODS : The steel rebar was exposed to 200, 400, 600, and 800℃ following the ISO 834 temperature-time fire curve. Hightemperature- exposed steel rebars were tested using the UTM for their yielding and tensile strengths, and elongation rate. RESULTS : Up to an exposure temperature of 600℃, the tensile properties of the rebar did not vary considerably. However, at 800℃ (which corresponds to a temperature rise time of approximately 22 min), the rebar lost its yielding and tensile strength by approximately 27 and 13%, respectively, compared to the control specimen. Further, the elongation rate increased after exposure to 600℃. The above fundamental tensile test results can be a good reference for future guidelines in the repair manual for tunnels after severe fire events. CONCLUSIONS : When steel rebar experiences high temperatures of 800℃, the yield strength of the rebar reduces approximately 27%. This strength reduction can cause severe structural damage to tunnels that use reinforced concrete as the primary structural elements.

        This study was conducted to obtain basic information for the use of the ATP fluorescence detection method in consideration of the most common and frequent contamination situation that occurs in laboratories dealing with fire blight causing bacterium, Erwinia amylovora. ATP luminescence measurements (Relative Light Unit, RLU) were tested against these pathogen cells (CFU/cm2) which were artificially introduced on the disinfected surface of a bench floor of a biosafety cabinet (Class 2 Type A1), on a part of the disinfected surface of a lab experimental bench, on a part of the disinfected floor, and on a part of the disinfected floor of an acryl chamber for bioaerosol studies in a biosafety laboratory (BSL 2 class) using two different ATP bioluminometers. RLU values were not much increased with the bacterial cells from 2.15 × 102/cm2 to 2.15 × 106/cm2. RLU values varied among the four different surfaces tested. RLU values measured from the same number of bacterial cells differed little between the two different ATP bioluminometers used for this study. RLU values obtained from bacterial cells higher than 2.15 × 107/cm2 indicated the presence of bacterial contamination on the four different surfaces tested. The R2 values obtained based on the correlation data for the RLU values in response to different E. amylovora cell numbers (CFU/ cm2) on the surfaces of the four test spots ranged from 0.9827 to 0.9999.

        This paper attempted to analyze the correlation between the risk image of the evacuees in the tunnel and the variables that affect the evacuation behavior due to the closed feeling. As to whether there is a difference in the level of recognizing the tunnel risk image according to the distribution of jobs, the null hypothesis was rejected at the significance probability of 0.002, so it can be said that the level of recognition of the tunnel risk image varies depending on the job group. In the distribution difference between gender and tunnel risk image recognition level, the significance probability was 0.012, indicating that the null hypothesis was rejected, indicating that the tunnel risk recognition distribution according to gender was different. As a result of analyzing the distribution difference between the tunnel's closed feeling and the tunnel risk perception level, the significance probability was 0.001, and the null hypothesis was rejected, indicating that there was a difference in the tunnel risk image level.

        In school safety education, it was difficult to apply how to link the safety education according to grades year, and student’s interest was reduced due to the repetition of existing safety education contents and the absence of new teaching methods and tools. In this study, as a new type of safety education, a performance forms fire safety education program was developed. This program aims to increase students’ interest and satisfaction in safety education, and to this end, it was connect with korean elementary science curriculum and combined various engineering teaching materials or tools and methods. Developed program was applied to 2,231 students, 25 schools in 10 regions of Gyeonggi-do and surveyed 476 fifth and sixth grade students program satisfaction and 3 factors of interest in fire safety education who could respond to the survey. As a result of applying the program, more than 90% of students responded more than 'satisfied' in all areas. and statistical test(independent t-test and non-parametric test) indicates over-all satisfaction and interest factors in the program are high regardless of gender and grade, so the effectiveness can be guessed indirectly and there is a universal applicability also. Moreover, examining the influence of student interest level in the satisfaction of the fire safety program, it was found that in order to increase the satisfaction of fire safety education, students should have more fun with the content and feel interest in the teacher's teaching method or explanation.

        Forest fires in Korea usually start in the fall and occur every year until spring. Most wildfires are human resources that combine topographical characteristics and carelessness, and failure to respond in the initial stage and lack of cleanup are spreading to large-scale wildfires. In order to prevent these wildfires, active cooperation from the public is essential. As can be seen from recent wildfires, the attention of the public is needed above all else because large-scale wildfires in Korea are occurring due to the people's negligence. If a wildfire spreads and becomes large, it causes damage to life and property, and the damage is irreversible. In this study, various methods were used to prevent forest fires and improve initial suppression ability. In order to minimize damage, the model analyzed by the 119 Special Rescue Team in Gangwon, Chungcheong and nearby forest fires was analyzed on the combustion progress and wind direction by time period. The propagation speed by the wind direction was simulated. Until now, most of the wildfires have been extinguished by firefighting, but I hope that the Forest Service will take the lead and maintain coordination with related organizations.

        This study collected powder extinguishers with 6-10 years of elapsed life from January 2012 to January 2017 in market, factory, and apartment areas to experiment with changes in fineness and to examine the characteristics of extinguishing power. First, in the case of ABC powder, 98.3 wt% of the 8-year market area and 98.6 wt% of the 10-year apartment complex were found to be inappropriate in the first, second, and third arithmetic average analysis of the powder extinguisher from 6 to 10 years. That is, the fine distribution and size of the powder extinguishing agent particles should be managed within an appropriate range. It is analyzed that the powder fire extinguisher may experience a change in the fineness of the powder depending on the external environment exposure, placement, management status, and age of use, resulting in a decrease in digestive power or inability to radiate. Second, the fire extinguisher cannot be used in the initial fire suppression depending on the place of deployment, the environment of deployment, the progress of the number of years of use, and maintenance, so it is necessary to strengthen the device that enables fire extinguisher maintenance and inspection. Third, in the manufacturing process, the charging method should also be reviewed in consideration of the conditions of the workplace, the humid season, and the rainy environment.

        This study attempted to explore how the perception of the necessity of safety education for adolescents affects fire safety consciousness and whether personality factors control the relationship. To this end, a survey was conducted at a high school in region C, and data of 1,049 people who agreed to the survey and responded faithfully were used for analysis. Hayes’ macro was used to analyze the moderating effect, and as a result of the analysis, adolescents’ awareness of the need for safety education increased, and their relationship was significantly regulated by extroversion, openness, and conscientiousness among the five personality factors. A simple regression line analysis was conducted to find out the specific direction, and it was found that the higher the need for safety education in both the group with high extroversion, openness, and conscientiousness, the higher the awareness of safety education. These results suggest that changes in educational methods and contents are needed to raise awareness of the necessity of education in fire safety education and to improve educational motivation, and that it may be helpful to actively utilize students’ personality strengths in education.

        In general, fire accidents in tunnels are sufficiently preventable, but the damage is very large. Therefore, the number of highway traffic accidents is high in spring when spring fatigue occurs and the traffic volume for maple travel increases. In particular, when analyzing the cause of death of people killed in fire accidents in tunnels, it is analyzed that most of them are suffocated by smoke. Therefore, in this study, it can be said that it is meaningful to make a social contribution to reduce the number of traffic accident deaths by establishing an efficient fire suppression system for fire accidents in tunnels.

        본 연구는 도시숲을 활용한 회기형 산림치유 프로그램이 소방공무원의 직무스트레스, 외상후 스트레스 장애(PTSD), 우울감 등 정신건강에 미치는 효과와 프로그램에 대한 만족도를 알아보기 위해 수행되었다. 2018년 9월부터 11월까지 인천대공원에서 진행되는 산림치유 프로그램에 참여한 인천시 G 소방서 소방공무원 63명을 대상으로 하였고 주 1회 2시간씩 총 4회 8시간으로 대상자 특성, 산림치유 요법 및 산림치유 인자를 활용한 프로그램을 새롭게 구성하여 실행하였다. 연구 결과 소방공무원 대상 산림치유 프로그램은 직무스트레스, 외상후 스트레스, 우울감 완화에 긍정적인 영향을 주었으며, 만족도 분석 결과 대부분 항목에서 긍정적인 반응을 보였다. 따라서 산림치유 활동은 고위험 직업군인 소방공무원의 스트레스를 완화하고 심리적·정서적 문제를 예방 및 관리하는 정신건강 관리 중재 프로그램이 될 수 있음을 확인하였다. 추후 연구에서는 다양한 형태의 소방공무원을 대상으로 확대 시행하며, 소방공무원의 심리 특성과 요구를 반영한 다양하고 흥미로운 산림치유 프로그램 개발이 지속해서 이루어져야 할 것이다.

        콘크리트 충전강관은 국부좌굴을 방지하고 내화성이 향상되기 때문에 건설현장에서 많이 적용되며 휨성능을 향상시 키기 위해 강관 내부에 철근을 보강하여 사용한다. 그러나 철근은 부식되며 내구성이 저하되기 때문에 이를 대신할 소재에 대 한 연구가 진행되고 있다. 탄소섬유보강근은 철근에 비해 경량이며 고강도와 내부식성이 우수하다는 이점이 있다. 그러나 임계 온도가 250℃로 철근의 임계온도인 538℃에 비해 현저히 낮기 때문에 내화피복이 필요하다. 따라서 열전달해석을 통해 탄소섬 유보강근을 사용하였을 때 온도분포를 확인하고 P-M상관도를 도출하여 적용 가능여부를 확인하고자 한다. 해석결과 내화성능을 확보하기 위해 콘크리트 피복두께 40mm, 뿜칠내화피복재 30mm를 적용하거나 콘크리트 피복두께 60mm, 뿜칠내화피복재 20mm 를 적용하면 3시간 내화성능을 만족하는 것으로 평가되었다.

        Nuclear power plants decommissioning is planned to be started in middle of the 2020. It is necessary to develop safety evaluation and verification technology during decommissioning to ensure the safety of security monitoring measures and maintenance measures, appropriate emergency plans and preparations for decommissioning, and the use of proven engineering when establishing decommissioning plan. For this purpose, a nuclear power plant decommissioning plan is prepared in several stages before decommissioning. When a lifetime of a nuclear power plant has reached, it needs to be decommissioned and therefore operator company should submit decommissioning plans to the National Safety and Security Commission. And safety analysis should be included in this document and it is explained in chapter 6. According to the NSSC Notice No. 2021-10, it is largely divided into principles and standards, exposure scenarios, dose assessment, residual radioactivity, abnormal events, and risk analysis. When unexpected radiological accident is happened, both public and occupational dose analysis should be conducted. However, research on the former can be found easily on the other hands, research on the latter is not active. In this paper, method of choosing scenarios of accidents during the decommissioning the nuclear power plants is briefly introduced. Accidents during nuclear power plants decommissioning cases in USA is chosen and its risk is evaluated by using risk matrix and ranked by AHP method. During the decommissioning phases, varieties of radioactive waste is expected to be generated such as contaminated concrete and metal. On the other hand, Dry Active Waste (DAW) is generated and its amount is and its amount is 7,353 drums. Characteristic of DAW is highly flammable compared to concrete or metal. Moreover, depending on method of radioactive waste conditioning and type of radioactive nuclides, release rate of the nuclides varies. Thus this type of radioactive waste is critical to fire accidents and such accident can occur extra dose exposure which exceeds the guideline of the regulatory body to workers. Therefore, in this paper, occupational dose exposure during the fire accident is conducted.

        According to the ‘Basic Plan for High-Level Radioactive Waste Management (draft)’, the total amount of CANDU spent nuclear fuel is expected to be approximately 660,000 bundles. To safely and efficiently transport this amount to interim storage facilities, it is essential to develop a large-capacity transport cask. Therefore, we have been developing a large-capacity PHWR spent nuclear fuel transport cask, called the KTC-360 transport cask. According to the transport-cask related regulations, the KTC-360 transport cask was classified as a Type B package, and such packages must be able to withstand a temperature of 800°C for a period of 30 min. It is desirable to conduct a test using a fullscale model of a shipping package when performing tests to evaluate its integrity. However, it is costly to perform a test using a full-scale model. Therefore, to evaluate the thermal integrity of the KTC-360 transport cask, the fire test was conducted using a slice model. For comparison purposes, the fire test was also carried out using a 1/4 scale model. In the fire test using a slice model and in the fire test using a 1/4 scale model, the maximum temperature of the cask body was lower than the permitted maximum temperature limit. Therefore, the thermal integrity of the KTC-360 transport cask could be considered to be maintained. The temperature results from the fire test using a slice model were higher than those of the fire test using a 1/4 scale model. Therefore, the effect of flame on a transport cask without combustible materials, such as the KTC-360 transport cask, seems to be affected by the reduction in the time rather than the size reduction.
