        This study was conducted to determine the effects of dietary protein level and supplementation of protease on growth performance, nutrient digestibility, gut microflora, intestinal morphology and fecal noxious gas emission in weanling pigs. A total of 240 weaned pigs (Landrace×Yorkshire×Duroc, 5.82±0.3 kg) were used during 4 weeks in 2 phases (days 0-14, phase 1; and days 15-28, phase 2) feeding program based on age and initial body weight. Pigs were allocated to 2×2 factorial arrangement, including 2 protein levels (HP, high protein; LP, low protein) and 2 protease levels (with or without protease). The average daily gain in the LP treatment (357 g/d) was increased rather than the HP treatment (339 g/d). A greater avarage daily gain was observed in dietary suppiemented protease treatment (358 vs 339 g/d). Average feed intake was greater in the LP treatment (544 g/d) rather than the HP treatment (530 g/d). A greater average daily feed intake was observed in dietary supplemented protease treatment (552 vs 523 g/d). Dry matter and crude protein digestibility were increased in dietary supplemented protease treatment (82.62% and 76.08%, respectively) rather than non-supplemented treatment (81.74% and 75.13%, respectively). Ileal Lactobacillus spp. count increased in dietary supplemented protease treatment (7.42 vs 7.32 log10CFU/g). Emission of H2S was decreased in the LP treatment (4.41 ppm) rather than HP treatment (4.78 ppm). Emission of NH3 was decreased in dietary supplemented protease treatment (10.43 ppm vs 11.76 ppm). In conclusion, the decrease of dietary protein level and supplementation of protease had beneficial effects on growth performance, nutrient digestibility, gut microflora, and noxious gas emission in weanling pigs.

        2016 Gyeongju and 2017 Pohang earthquakes led Koreans to acknowledge that the Korean peninsula is not an earthquake-free zone anymore. Among various buildings crucial to after-shock recovery, general hospital buildings, especially existing old ones, are very significant so seismic retrofitting of those must be an important issue. Self-centering energy dissipative(SCED) brace is one of retrofitting methods, which consists of tendon with restoring force and friction device capable of dissipating seismic energy. The strength of the SCED brace is that the tendon forces a structure to go back to the original position, which means residual drift can be negligible. The residual drift is a very important parameter to determine usableness of general hospitals after shock. To the contrary, buckling-restrained braces(BRB) are also a very effective way to retrofit because they can resist both compressive and tensile, but residual drift may exist when the steel core yields. On this background, the seismic retrofitting effect of general hospitals reinforced with SCED braces was investigated and compared to that of the BRD in this study. As a result, although the floor acceleration cannot be reduced, the story drift and residual drift, and the shear demand of walls significantly decreased. Consequently, seismic retrofitting by SCED braces are very effective for domestic low-rise general hospitals.

        Pohang earthquake occurred on November 15, 2017, with a magnitude of 5.4. The damage of the structure caused by the Pohang earthquake was the most significant in 4-story piloti-type buildings, where the damage patterns were different according to the location of columns and walls at the first story. One building with a staircase at a corner shows shear failure at columns, and Another building with a staircase in the middle shows no failure or shear failure at staircase walls. Therefore, two different piloti-type buildings were selected; one has a staircase at a corner and another has in the middle, and the seismic behavior of the buildings were examined by nonlinear dynamic analysis applying a ground motion measured at Pohang. Analytical model well simulated the actual behavior of the piloti-type buildings during the earthquake. Analysis results showed that walls have an insufficient shear strength wherever the location of the staircase is and columns with insufficient transverse reinforcement could be failed when the staircase is located at a corner. Conclusively, structural engineers should design columns and walls in piloti-type buildings to possess sufficient capacity according to the location of staircase.

        This study was designed to know the possibility in repeat uses of elite donor cows for getting mass production of OPU-derived embryo production (OPU-IVP). Ultrasound transvaginal ovum pick-up (OPU) performed in 6 Korean native cows was aged 4 to 10 years old. The aspiration of immature oocytes for OPU derived embryo was carried out 2 times per week, and OPU-IVP of 1st period was carried out 22∼48 sessions from each donors. And the break time for OPU-IVP of 2nd period after 1st OPU from each donors were 2∼25 months. The OPU-IVP of 2nd period each donors conducted total 15∼65 times for 2∼8 months by an ultrasonographic, was guided follicular aspiration system. The average numbers of collected oocytes, grade 1 + grade 2(G1+G2) oocytes and cleavage embryo from 1st period OPU-IVP were significantly differences between donors (p<0.05). Total collected oocytes of donor D were significantly higher compared with donors of A, B, C, E and F (average 17.0 per session vs. 11.2, 10.1, 8.5, 10.2 and 9.6; p<0.05) and also oocytes of G1+G2 were significantly higher compared with r A and D and subsequently to donors of B, C, E and F (average 7.9 and 8.5 per session vs. 5.0, 2.7, 6.0 and 1.6; p<0.05). Cleavage rate of donor D was significantly higher compared with donors of A, B, C, E and F (average 13.1 per session vs. 10.1, 9.1, 6.9, 8.9 and 6.7; p<0.05). The average numbers of OPU-IVP for 1st period was significantly higher from donors of B, D and E than those from donors of A, C and F (average 6.5, 7.1 and 6.5 per session vs. 3.5, 4.2 and 2.8; p<0.05). The possibility investigation of 2nd OPU-IVP was carried out after 2∼25 months rest periods from 1st period OPU session. Total average numbers of collected oocytes, cleavages and blastocyst development rates were significantly higher from 1st period OPU compared with 2nd period one (p<0.05). The OPU-IVP efficiency by break for more embryo production from elite cow was analysis comparing without rest of donor A, under 6 months rest period as B and over 6 months rest period as C and then the average numbers of collected oocytes, cleavages and blastocysts were significantly higher from A group (11.8, 9.5 and 5.2 per session) than those from B and C groups (7.9, 6.2 and 2.6 vs. 9.2, 7.5 and 3.9, p<0.05), and also C group was significantly higher than B group. In conclusion, 1st period OPU-IVP was more efficient compared with 2nd period repeated uses of donor, and the break times for additional production of embryo on donor were needed more than over 6 months after 1st period OPU-IVP. This repeating uses of elite donor cows given more emphasis for getting the opportunity on mass production of elite cow OPU-IVP embryo should be increased G1+G2 possibility of genetic improvement of livestock within short period.

        The HANARO reactor constructed from Jan. 1985 to April 1995, and a major utilization system, the Cold Neutron Research Facility was completed Nov. 2010. The cold neutron research facility consists of a Cold Neutron Source, a process system, a neutron guide and a Spectrometer. A moderator is utilized to transform thermal neutrons into cold neutrons. A moderator cell accommodates the moderator. The inner assembly contains an aluminum moderator cell connected to a stainless steel heat exchanger by a bi-metallic transition joint. An In-Pool Assembly is welded to this inner assembly and a double flexible pipe, and a vacuum chamber is inserted. After HANARO reactor shutdown, the in-pool assembly was installed at a cold neutron hole in the reactor pool. We confirmed a precise installation by using an underwater TV camera for a nuclear reactor inspection. In-pool assembly connected to double flexible pipe each system in the Cold Neutron Research Facility. After cold neutron research facility operated, the reliability of vacuum system, helium refrigerator system, gas blanket system and hydrogen system for maintenance was confirmed.

        본 연구는 아스팔트 덧씌우기 포장에 나타나는 반사균열을 제어하기 위하여 노후된 시멘트 콘크리트 포장과 아스팔트 덧씌우기 포장 경계면에 보강재의 효과적인 부착 방법을 찾기 위하여 수행하였다. 이를 위한 부착재로는 RSC-4 유화아스팔트, 컴파운드, 불포화 폴리에스터 수지 (UPR) 등 3종류를 사용하였다. 또한 아스팔트 혼합물은 3종류의 밀입도 혼합물(AC 60-80, RLDPE 8%, PG 76-22)을 사용하였다. 보강 재료로서 유리섬유 그리드 하부에 직포가 부착된 것을 사용하였다. 복합모드 파괴(mode II)의 모사를 위한 촉진시험은 휠트랙킹 장비를 이용하여 수행하였다. 반사균열의 진전은 피로수명으로서 하중 사이클 수에 따라 측정하였고, 공시체의 변위는 각각 시험 공시체에 대하여 demec 게이지를 이용하여 측정하였다. 본 연구 결과, UPR 부착이 가장 효과적이었으며 다음은 RSC-4의 순이었다. 그러나 현장 적용성을 고려할 때 , RSC-4 유제가 보강 재료의 부착을 위해 적절한 선택으로 판단된다.

        본 연구는 노후된 시멘트 콘크리트 포장 위에 덧씌운 아스팔트 혼합물의 반사균열 지연을 위하여 바인더 2가지 일반과 개질, 바닥 보강재로 그리드 3종류와 Fabric 2종류의 효과를 평가하기 위하여 수행하였다. 보강재는 공시체 제조시 미리 슬래브 몰드 바닥에 깔고 가열 아스팔트 혼합물을 몰드에 부은 후 다짐을 하여 아스팔트 슬래브 공시체와 일체화시켜 콘크리트 블록 위에 덧씌우기 형태로 택코팅하여 부착하였다. 본 연구를 위하여 휨파괴(mode I) 및 전단파괴(mode II)반사균열 시험을 수행하였다. 시험결과, 일부의 그리드의 보강이 휨파괴 및 전단파괴에 의한 반사균열의 지연에 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 특히 LDPE 개질아스팔트와 함께 사용하면 반사균열 지연에 큰 효과가 있음을 알 수 있었다.

        본 연구는 소성변형을 예측하기 위하여 현재 가장 널리 사용되고 있는 반복주행 (Wheel tracking: WT) 시험을 통해 얻어진 변형량-사이클 곡선의 동적안정도(Dynamic stability : DS)를 정립하기 위한 연구이다. 기존에 반복주행시험을 통해 얻어진 곡선에서 동적안정도를 구하는 방법은 표준화되어 있기는 하지만 불합리한 점이 많아 이를 보다 합리적으로 정립하기 위한 방안을 제시하고자 하였다. 슬래브 305×305×70mm의 공시체를 롤러콤팩터로 다짐하여 공극률 약 4±0.5%로 맞추어 제조하여 반복주행시험을 실시하였다. 기존에 동적안정도를 구하는데 사용하던 방법보다는 본 연구에서 사용한 방법으로 동적안정도를 구하는 것이 침하 깊이와의 상관성을 보다 잘 반영하고, 소성변형 저항성이 좋은 것과 나쁜 것간의 차이가 보다 확실히 나타남을 알 수 있었다. 추후 본 연구에서 개발된 방법으로 계산하여서 동적안정도가 큰 혼합물이 실제 현장에서도 공용성이 우수한지를 추적 조사하는 연구가 뒤따라야 할 것이다.
