생약식물로서 중요한 위치를 차지하고 있는 구기의 육종자료를 얻고자 한국에 분포되어 있는 구기 지방종을 수집하여 품질의 특성을 조사한 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 품질에서는 남부 지방종들이 단백질, 조지방, Oleic acid, Linoleic acid, Vitamin A, Alcaloid 함량이 많아 우수하였다. 2. 무기성분인 Ca, P, Fe의 함량도 남부 지방종이 높은 경향이었다. 3. 구기엽의 분석에서 N,P2O5,K 의 함량은 경하부에 착생한 광엽이 경상부에 착생한 세엽에 비하여 낮은 반면에 Ca, Mg, Fe, SiO2 등은 광엽에서 높았다. 4. 구기엽의 엽색변화 시기에 따른 성분함량은 N,P2O5,K 는 제1차 광엽기에, Ca은 제1차 낙엽기에 Mn과 Cu은 각각 제2차 신엽에서 높은 경향을 보였다.

The southern parts varieties have shown higher content of Oleic acid, Linoleic acid, Vitamin A, Alcaloid, Ca, P and Fe than northern parts Varieties. The N.~;P2O5~;and~;K2O content of narrow leaf were higher than wide leaf, on the other hand the Ca, Mg, Fe and SiO2 content of wide leaf were higher than narrow leaf. The content of N, ~;P2O5, ~;K2O have shown higher in first yellow leaf date, the content of Ca has shown higher in first falling leaf date and the content of Mn and Cu content have shown higher in second new leaf date.
