도시의 가로경관은 도시민의 사고와 행동에 영향을 미친다. 색채는 가로경관을 구성하는 중요한 요소이다. 본 연구는 색채분석을 통하여 가로경관의 시각적인 문제점을 발견하는 동시에 그 개선방안을 마련함으로써 가로경관의 성격과 특징에알맞은 쾌적하고 미적인 거리를 조성하는 방법을 제시하고자 하였다. 본 연구의 대상지는 홍대 걷고 싶은 거리로, 가로의색채 환경을 조사 분석 한 결과, 가로는 명도와 채도가 일정치 않고 색상 또한 지나치게 다양하게 사용되어 혼란스러운느낌을 주고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 이에 본 연구에서는 설문조사를 통한 문제점과 개선점을 바탕으로, 개선시 요구되는 형용사이미지인 ‘경쾌한’을 기준으로 제안색채가이드라인을 제작하여 홍대 걷고 싶은 거리에 조화로운 색채계획이 이루어질 수 있는기반을 마련하고자 하였다.

Streetscape of city can affect thought and behavior of inhabitants in the urban area. Color is an important part of streetscape. This study would find visual problems of streetscape by color analyzing and draw up measures about that. The site is 'Hongik University Favorite Street'. According to the result of survey analysis for color environment of this street, brightness and chroma were irregular, also color was used too much variously. It makes people feel confused. This study would be useful to harmonious color design on Hongik University Favorite Street by making proposal color guideline.
