도시의 경관색채는 주민, 전문가, 관련 행정기관의 합력하여 지속적이고 일관성 있는 경관형성과 정비, 관리유지가 필요하다. 이에 본 계획은 서울시 도봉구 도시디자인기본계획의 일환으로 그 목적은 자연친화적 도시를 지향목표로쾌적한 도시이미지를 형성할 수 있는 경관색채 디자인 방향을 모색하고 실천과제를 위한 가이드라인을 수립하기 위함이다.색채계획은 지역의 여러 가지 자원과 특징이 총체적으로 반영되고 투영되어야만 정체성이 표현될 수 있다. 따라서주민의식조사를 통해 도봉구의 대표경관이미지와 지향이미지를 파악하여 경관색채의 기본방향을 설정하고 서울시 전체의도시경관과의 연속되는 조화를 이루도록 서울색과의 정합성을 유지하는 도봉 대표색과 팔레트를 추출하였으며 특성화계획에 반영하였다. 따라서 주조색과 보조색은 도봉구의 자연환경의 색채특성을 반영하여 도시의 배경이 되도록 하였으며강조색은 권역의 유형에 따라 색조와 색상을 조절하여 사용하도록 하였다. 마지막으로 세부 색채가이드라인은 색채와재질감 및 제 특성을 고려하여 규정하고 그에 따른 예시를 제시함으로 실제 적용이 쉽도록 하였다.

Urban landscape color is formed, modified and managed consistently in partnership between the local residents, experts, businesses, and the administration. Therefore this plan is part of the Urban Design Master Plan of Dobong district in Seoul, proposes the direction of the landscape color design and establishes the landscape color guideline for creating a nature-friendly urban area. A landscape color plan must reflect the local resources and the characteristics for the local identity. So this landscape color plan is based on the result of the residents' input regarding the representative landscape and desired urban image. It also reflects special plan for Dobong using a representative colors and color palette to ensure that are remains harmonized with the rest of Seoul. The dominant and assort colors reflecting the natural color characteristics of Dobong district provide urban backdrop, and accent colors are used to adjust the tone and hue of different area types. Finally practice of urban landscape color guidelines for texture and materiality are used to propose a more easily applicable design.
