고추냉이 품종, 달마종을 공시하고 수원지방의 비닐하우스에서 '96년 12월부터 '96년 6월까지 종자생산에 관한 기초자료를 얻고자 개화결실특성(開花結實特性) 및 채종적기(採種適基)조사한 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 달마종의 화경(花梗)은 10.2±2.29개로 12월 하순에서 3월 중순까지 추대되었는데, 1월 하순과 2월 상순에 가장 많이 추대(抽臺)되었으며 화경장(花梗長)은 124.1±29.60cm로 3월 중순에 가장 빠르게 신장되었다. 2. 개화시는 1월 27일, 개화기는 3월 21일, 개화말기는 6월 4일 이었고 개화기간은 99±21.32일이었다. 3. 3월 중순까지 개화된 꽃은 모두가 불임(不稔)되었으나 3월 하순에 개화된 꽃은 22.3%, 5월 중순에 개화한 것은 84.2%가 결실되어 평균 결실률은 43.2±8.77%를 보였다. 4. 종자성숙기간은 37.5±2.60일로 채종적기(採種適期)는 꼬투리가 약 13%정도 벌어지는 5월 하순 이었으며 m2당 79.0±19.94g%(11,177개) 종자가 생산되었다.
Flowering characteristics and optimal harvest time for seed of wasabi variety. Daruma, were investigated from Dec. 1995 to June 1996 in film house of Suwon. The number of peduncle was 10.2±2.29 and most of the peduncle emerged between Jan. 20 and Feb. 10. Average peduncle length was 124±29.60cm and the peduncle grew most rapidly in the middle of march. Flowering started on Jan. 27 and lasted until June 4 with a peak at march 21 and flowering period was 99±21.32 days. Flowers which bloomed later than the middle of March set seed but those bloomed earlier became sterile because days with minimum temperature below freezing occurred until the middle of March. Maturing period was 37.5±2.60 days and total seed set was 43.2±8.77% in the natural culture condition. Optimal harvest time for seed was the last ten days of May and seed yield per m2 was 79.0±19.94g%(11,177 seeds).
