음악 교육의 본질은 심미적 경험에 있다. 심미적 음악 감상 수업은 전인 교육의 목표에 부합하며 창의적 인재 육성이라는 시대적 요청에 부응하여 강화될 필요가 있다. 본 연구에서는 현재 우리나라 학교 음악 교육의 현실에 비추어 학생들에게 질적으로 심화된 음악 경험을 제공하기 위한 대안으로 프로젝트 형 음악 감상 수업 모형을 개발한다. 교육과정에서 현대 음악 레퍼토리와의 접촉이 부족함을 고려하여 20세기 실내악 작품들을 제재곡으로 선정하고, 소리와 리듬에 대한 탐구에 중점을 두어 학생들이 음악의 개념 이해를 통한 예술적 체험에 이르도록 하는 것이 연구의 목적이다.

The essence of music education lies in the aesthetic experiences. Music appreciation should be emphasized further since it fits perfectly in the objective of whole person education, and also it meets the demands of our time for fostering creative individuals. Considering the reality in music education in Korea, through this study I developed a project type music appreciation lesson for an aesthetical experience as an alternative way of offering a quality-driven music education. In view of the lack of emphasis on sound and rhythm as a basic music element, and also considering the insufficient contact with contemporary music repertories in the current music curricula, I selected a few 20th century chamber music pieces in order for students to experience rich tone and strong rhythm of music.
