도시공원은 도시민들의 휴식처로서 날로 그 중요성이 증대되고 있으며 도시공원이 제공하는 경관은 도시공원 이용자들이 도시공원을 찾는 주요 이유 중 하나로 작용하고 있다. 그 중 도시공원에 설치된 시설물의 색채는 경관의 선호에 영향을 미치면서도 비교적 적은 노력으로 변화가 가능한 요소이다. 하지만 도시공원에 설치된 많은 시설물들은 이용자의 선호에 대한 고려가 이루어지지 않고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 도시공원 경관의 질적 향상을 통해 이용자들의 선호를 증대시키는 방법을 제안하고자, 도시공원에서 가장 흔한 시설물인 벤치의 색채를 대상으로 벤치가 위치하는 배경에 따른 선호의 차이 및 선호에 영향을 미치는 요인을 알아보았다.연구에 사용된 벤치의 형태는 가장 흔하게 접할 수 있는 등받이가 있는 목재 벤치로 컴퓨터 그래픽 프로그램을 이용해 제작되었다. 벤치에는 총 6개의 색채가 적용되었고 14쌍의 벤치색채관련 형용사쌍과 함께 설문에 활용되었으며 수집된 자료는 통계적으로 분석되었다. 그 결과, 벤치의 색채는 같으나 설치된 배경에 차이가 있는 경우, 갈색계열을 제외한 제시된 모든 색채에 있어 선호의 차이가 나타났다. 벤치 색채와 관련한 요인으로 식별성, 심미성, 촉감성 요인이 발견되었으며 선호와의 관계에 있어 식별성 요인은 부(-)의 영향을, 심미성과 촉감성 요인은 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 선호에 대한 변수들의 상대적 영향력을 살펴 본 결과, ‘부조화로운-조화로운’, ‘촌스러운-세련된’, ‘더러운-깨끗한’, ‘딱딱한-부드러운’, ‘차가운-따뜻한’, ‘불안한-편안한’, ‘값싸보이는-고급스러운’, ‘차분한-요란한’의 순으로 선호에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이 중 ‘차분한-요란한’은 부(-)값을 보였다. 따라서, 벤치가 설치되는 배경에 맞추어 주변과 조화를 이루고 식별성은 떨어지면서 심미성과 촉감성이 높은 느낌의 색채를 계획한다면 벤치 색채의 변화를 통해 이용자의 선호를 향상시킬 수 있을 것이다.
The importance of urban parks for recreational place in the city is stressed in modern society. And the landscape which is provided park is the one of major reason to visit park. Above all, the colors of facilities installed in urban park are the important element to increase preference with less afford. However, many existing facilities and street furniture are colored with less consideration of users' preference. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to find out the difference of color preference between same facility color in different background, factors which are related to the color of urban park facilities, and examine the effectiveness of factor to preference, specially bench, and finally, suggests the way to improve the users’ preference. The images, used to the study, is consisted of urban park’s most natural or artificial landscape installed a wooden bench with back, which are applied 6 colors, each. They are generated by computer simulation softwares, 3D-Max and Adobe Photoshop. With these images, 14 pairs of epithets that related to bench’s color are used to survey. The collected data were statistically analyzed with IBM SPSS 19.0.The difference of preference appears in every bench color between natural and artificial background except brown. Three factors come from 14 pairs of epithets. And they are named discrimination, aesthetic quality, and tactile sense factor, each. All of the three factors, discrimination, aesthetic quality, and tactile sense factor, influence on the urban park users' visual preference of bench color. Specially, discrimination factor influence negative effects to the preference, not like the others.Therefore, consideration of the factors which found out to effect on users' visual preference when plan to urban park facilities could improve users’ landscape preference may satisfy people who enjoy parks and contribute to their quality of life.
