As people pursue happiness and are increasingly interested in happiness in the midst of rapid social change, it has become apparent that the practical fields of social work need a data base for planning programs and services accordingly. In response to this need, this study was conducted from March 2 thru December 5 of 2010 with 600 adult men and women in order to examine the levels of their hardship and feeling of happiness in their daily lives. According to the study, in areas of hardship and feeling of happiness in daily lives, women were found to have more significant hardships and less feeling of happiness compared to men. Also, it was confirmed that the higher the household income is and the less the severity of hardships is in daily life, the higher the feeling of happiness.
