잭 예이츠는 W. B. 예이츠의 동생이다. 잭은 화가로 알려져 있지만, 작가로는 잘 알려져 있지 않다. 그러나, 흥미롭게도, 작가 잭은 새뮤엘 베켓에게 영향을 준 것 같으며, 베켓은 잭을 작가로, 화가로 주목했다. 본 논문은 잭의 예술에 대해 평한 베켓의 글 두 편을 다루며, 또한 잭의 문학과 예술의 특징을 논의하며, 잭과 베켓의 희곡 두 편을 비교, 분석한다. 베켓의 희곡은 잭의 영향을 보인다.

Jack Yeats is the younger brother of W. B. Yeats. Jack is known as a painter, but not well known as a writer. But interestingly, Jack as writer seems to have given Samuel Beckett some influence; in the meantime, Beckett paid attention to Jack as writer and artist. This article introduces Beckett’s critiques on Jack’s art, analyzes Jack’s style of art and literary works, and also discusses and compares the plays by the two writers. Beckett’s play shows some influence he seems to have received from Jack Yeats.
