본 연구에서는 고문헌을 바탕으로 우리나라 고지도의 발달사를 알아보았다. 우리나라의 지도제작은 삼국시대부터 시작되었고, 제작된 지도는 군사적·행정적으로 이용하였다. 고려시대에 제작된 5도양계도는 조선 전기의 지도제작에 많은 영향을 주었다. 조선전기에는 세계지도인 역대제왕혼일강리도, 원형천하도가 제작되었고, 후기에는 지도제작 기술이 상당히 발전되어 국가 주도하의군현도들이 만들어 졌다. 특히 김정호는 우리나라 대표적인 고지도인 청구도, 대동여지도, 대동지지를 제작하였다. 이러한 한국 고지도를 통해 지도 제작의 특징, 국가 영역 인식의 특징 등을 알 수 있다.

In this paper, I researched developmentof old map of Korea through the literature review. Map making of Korea started from the era of three States and the map had been used for the military and administrative purpose. ‘Odoyanggyedo’ which had made during the era of Goryeo had influenced to the development of map making of early era of Chosun. During the early era of Chosun, ‘Yokdaejaewanghonilkangleedo’ and ‘Wonhyungchunhado’ which are world atlas, had been produced. The later era of Chosun, the map making technology had been developed tremendously that local administrative map had been made under the control of the dynasty. Especially Jungho Kim produced the ‘Chunggudo’, the most famous old map of Korea, ‘Daedongyeogido’, and ‘Daedonggigi’ etc.. Through these old maps, we can analyze characteristic of map making and cognition of national territory.
