본 연구는 현재 사유림 경영에 중요한 부분을 차지하고 있는 산림복합경영의 현황을 파악하고 그 발전방향을 제시하기 위해 실시하였다. 연구진행방법은 임업의 선구자의 역할을 하고 있는 독림가와 임업후계자의 일반현황을 알아보고 현재 산림복합경영을 진행하고 있는 임가에 대한 설문조사를 실시하였다. 이러한 방법으로 독림가와 임업후계자의 다양한 현황과 산림복합경영을 하고 있는 임가의 현실을 알 수있었으며, 결과를 분석하여 산림복합경영의 발전을 위한 방안을 다음과 같이 제시하였다. 첫 째, 보다 발전된 산림복합경영을 위해선 정부의 지원이 증대되어야 하며, 둘 째, 산림복합경영에 대한 홍보활동이 활발히 이뤄져야 한다. 셋 째, 산림복합경영과 임업 전반에 대한 제도의 개선 및 정책의 변화가 필요하며, 마지막으로 독림가와 임업후계자, 그리고 모든 임업인들의 의식의 변화가 필요하다고 판단된다.

This study was carried out in order to understand the current state of agro-forestry which has an important part of a private forest, and to present its direction of improvement. Research progress was conducted with investigating general status of sincere forest manager and forest successor who have a important role in forestry. Also it carried out a survey targeting people who proceed agro-forestry. In this way, we could know about sincere forest manager's various current situation and reality of agro-forestry conditions. we could suggest some way of developing agro-forestry in analysis of these results. First of all, support of government must be increased for development of agro-forestry. Secondly, promotion of agro-forestry must be conducted actively. Thirdly, changes in policy and improvement of the entire system of forestry and agro-forestry is required. In last, it is necessary to change the awareness of people of sincere forest manager and forestry successor and all of people engaged in forestry.
