본 연구는 관광객이 인식하는 사전 중요도와 사후 성취도에 대한 비교 연구 측면에서 중요도-성취도 분석을 통해 전주자연생태박물관의 생태관광 매력성을 평가하고, 이를 바탕으로 바람직한 자연생태박물관 서비스품질 향상을 위한 기초자료의 제공을 목적으로 하였다. 이러한 연구과정을 통해 본 논문은 관광객 만족도에 실질적인 영향을 미치는 생태관광 매력속성을 확인함으로써, 차별적이고 세분화된 생태관광 서비스를 제공하기 위한 바람직한 관리방안을 모색하는 데에 기여할 수 있을 것이다. 분석 결과, 전주자연생태박물관의 생태관광 매력속성에 대한 관광객의 평가는 전반적으로 방문 전 기대수준에 비해 실제 만족도가 분명하게 낮은 수치를 기록했음이 확인되었다. 또한 전주자연생태박물관은 자연학습 및 환경해설과 관련된 속성을 대표적인 생태관광 매력성으로 활용하기 위한 지속적인 노력 및 투자가 이루어져야 할 필요성이 있다. 반면에 자연관찰용 전망시설과 자연생태계 체험프로그램에 대한 재정비 및 개선을 통해 생태관광 서비스품질을 향상시킬 수 있는 집중적인 노력이 시급하다고 할 수 있다. 중요도에 비해 지나치게 높은 성취도를 나타내는 박물관의 자연생태계 현황에 관련된 속성들은 과잉 개선 노력이 투입되는 것을 지양해야 한다.

The purpose of this research is to suggest appropriate directions for the improvement of ecotourism service quality through the investigation of the museum visitors’ satisfaction by the importance-performance analysis in case of Jeonju Nature Ecological Museum. For this purpose it focuses on the comparative analysis of difference between importance and performance that ecotourists evaluate on the ecotourism destination’s attractiveness of Jeonju Nature Ecological Museum. The results may be summarized as follows. The visitors’ satisfaction level was confirmed to be lower than their importance level through the evaluation of the ecotourism destination’s attractiveness of Jeonju Nature Ecological Museum. Attributes concerning environmental interpretation and eco-experience need to keep up the good work as the representative ecotourism destination’s attractiveness. On the other hand, observational facilities and experiential programme of natural ecosystem were urgently required to improve with the concentrated complement for the enhancement of ecotourism service quality. And attributes concerning the condition of natural ecosystem must be sublated to input overkill because of extremely high performance compared with low importance.
