본 연구는 원예치료 프로그램이 시설아동의 자기효능과 정서에 미치는 영향에 대해 알아보고자 시행하였다. 대상자는 대전에 있는 4개의 시설에 거주하는 아동 28명으로 2008년 4월부터 2008년 8월까지 16회 원예치료 프로그램을 실행하였다. 프로그램 실행 전과 후에 자기효능감 척도와 HTP 검사에 의한 평가를 하였다. 자기효능감 검사에서는 대상자 전체의 평균이 5% 수준에서 통계적으로 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 하위변인 별로 살펴보면 자존감의 경우 통계적으로p<0.05 수준에서 유의한 것으로 나타났으나 자기조절 효능감과 과제난이도 선호에서는 유의한 차이를 보이지 않았다. HTP 검사 결과 대상자들의 정서적 장애지수가 p<0.05수준에서 유의한 차를 나타내어 정서장애가 개선된 것으로 나타났다. 이상의 결과로부터 원예치료 프로그램이 시설아동의 자기효능감과 정서를 향상시키는 것으로 나타났다.
This study was surveyed and analyzed to research the effect of a horticultural therapy program on the self-efficacy and emotional intelligence of children in child welfare institutions. For the study, the horticultural therapy program was applied to 28 children in 4 child welfare institutions in Daejeon city. The program, which was carried out from April till August in 2008, consists of 16 sessions. The effect of the horticultural therapy program was proved through tests by a program of self-efficacy, HTP and observation records. In self-efficacy research, the average score of children showed the significant difference. Observation of subordinate subject, the self-esteem item showed the significant increase after horticultural therapy than before horticultural therapy. But self control efficacy items and preference of subject difficulty index items did not show any significant difference. The horticultural therapy program proved that the statistically positive effect on emotional disorders decrease by comparing the two emotional disorder scores in HTP before and after the application of the horticultural therapy program. As a result of the evaluation on the HTP emotional disorder index of personal drawing, the item showed the significant difference as p<0.05. According to the observation diary of the horticultural therapist, children were inattentive, lacked concentration and gave negative expression in the opening part. As the horticultural therapy program progressed, children changed to being attentive and concentrating. The result of this study showed that horticultural therapy improved the self-efficacy and emotional intelligence of children of the child welfare institutions.
