본 연구는 원예치료 프로그램의 차이가 지적 장애인의 정서와 사회기술에 미치는 효과를 알아보고자 실시하였다. 꽃장식 원예치료프로그램을 실시한 집단과 다양한 실내원예치료 프로그램을 실시한 집단 모두 2007년 7월부터 2007년 12월까지 총23회 실시하였다. 꽃장식 프로그램 집단의 사회기술 평가 결과 5% 유의수준에서 유의한 의미를 나타내었다. 정서행동 평가결과 불안과 공격이 유의한 의미를 보였고 전체적으로 5%의 유의수준에서 유의한 의미를 나타내었다. 적응행동 평가결과 중 중 부적응행동의 모든 하위영역에서 유의한 의미는 나타나지 않았다. 다양한 실내원예 프로그램 집단의 사회기술 평가 결과 5% 유의 수준에서 유의한 의미를 나타냈으며, 정서행동 평가 결과 불안, 우울, 자아개념이 유의한 의미를 보였고 전체적으로 1% 유의 수준에서 유의한 의미를 나타내었다. 적응행동 평가결과 중 부적응행동의 하위영역 중 공격, 반사회, 반항, 위축 항목에서 유의한 의미를 나타내었다. 꽃장식 프로그램과 다양한 실내원예 프로그램은 사회기술, 적응행동에 큰 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 정서행동 하위항목 중 현실감 부재와 적응행동 중 대인관계 하위항목에서 다양한 실내원예치료 프로그램을 실시한 집단이 꽃장식 원예치료 프로그램 집단보다 유의차(0.05)가 나타나게 향상 되었다. 두 집단 간 정서행동과 사회기술에 원예치료 프로그램이 효과적인 것으로 나타났다. 다양한 실내 원예치료 프로그램을 실시한 집단에서 현실감 부재 하위항목과 적응행동 중 하위항목 대인관계에서 프로그램 간 차이를 나타내었다. 한 프로그램에서 기대되는 효과보다 다양한 프로그램에서 다양한 경험을 접함으로서 프로그램 간의 효과에 차이가 나는 것으로 판단된다.

The purpose of this study was to examine effect on difference of horticultural therapy program on the severe developmental disorders. The subjects of were 1 woman and 5man in the flower decoration program group who were institution for the mentally disabled, which is located in Gyeongsan, Gyeongsanbukdo. and the subjects of 3 woman and 3 man in the interior horticulture program group who were institution for the mentally disabled, which is located in Youngchun, Gyeongsanbukdo. Flower decoration program and interior horticulture program were conducted for twenty-three sessions, one a week, from July 2007 to December 2007. After analyzing the results of social skill, Flower decoration program group and interior horticulture program group showed significant difference. After analyzing the results of emotional behavior, Flower decoration program group showed significant difference in anxiety, attack. and interior horticulture program group showed significant difference in anxiety, depression, self-consciousness. After analyzing the results of adaptive behavior, Flower decoration program group did not showed significant difference. but interior horticulture program group showed significant difference in attack, anti-sociality, defiance, withering.
