본 연구는 대부분의 기존연구가 거의 하지 않았던, 한국어를 실제 학습하고 있는 전국차원의 다문화가족 460여 명을 대상으로 실제 분석한 결과, 다문화가족들의 기초 학습 변인, 다문화가족들이 느끼는 한국어교육에 있어 다문화교육의 성격에 대한 인식, 다문화가족들의 한국어 능력과 그 중요성에 대한 학습자 인식 변인들에서 많은 차이가 나타났다. 실증적인 조사 분석 결과 좀 더 효과적인 한국어교육을 위해서는 학습 수요자인 다문화가족들의 학력 등의 기초 학습배경과 다문화와 한국어 능력에 대한 학습자의 인식 변인들에 따라 한국어 각 영역에서의 교재수준을 조절하여야 하며, 한국어의 다문화교육 차원의 인식과 한국어 학습영역의 난이도 등에 따라서 알맞은 한국어 강의 교재 선택, 수업시간 조정, 수강 반 편성 등을 효율적으로 실시하여야 한다.

This study analyzes the education of Korean language for multicultural families in Korea empirically. The main results and findings are summarized as below. The multicultural learners of Korean language think that the listening ability is the most important and the speaking ability is the second most important in the areas of the proficiency of Korean. The grammar and rules of composition appear not much important to multicultural families in Korea.
While the learning Korean has been helpful for multicultural families to develop the Korean language ability, the understanding Korean society and Korean culture are also important to enhance the proficiency of Korean language.
As the results of statistical tests, multicultural families answered that the grammar and rules of composition were the most difficult and the textbooks for Korea grammar and composition were also the most difficult. They asked to make and provide the stratified or classified textbooks according to their abilities of Korean. The statistical test such as ANOVA show that since there exist several differences among the multicultural families' learning and recognition variables of Korean, the Korean education should reflect these differences according to these variables more effectively.
