본 연구는 결혼이민자의 결혼과 일에 대한 적응 과정을 삶의 현장을 통해 탐색하고자 하였다. 연구 참여자는 한국에 시집온 지 8년이 되고, 연구자에게 베트남어를 2년 동안 가르치면서 친구로 지내온 베트남 출신 결혼이주여성 A이다. 한 개인의 결혼과 일의 삶에 관한 생생한 경험을 전달하기 위하여 내러티브 탐구방법으로 연구를 수행하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 한국남자와의 결혼선택은 드라마의 영향과 친구의 권유로 이루어졌지만, 자신의 삶의 변화를 기대하였다. 둘째, 상이한 문화·관습·시부모로 인한 힘든 적응과정이 결혼 초기에 많았다. 셋째, 한국에서의 명절은 가장 슬픈 날이며, 베트남어로 이야기할 때 가장 행복함을 느꼈다. 넷째, 한국에서 일의 시작은 자발적으로 이루어졌으며, 일은 그녀의 삶에서 스트레스를 풀게 하고, 가족의 미래를 저축하고, 자기계발을 증진시키는 역할로 삶에서 경험하고 있었다. 이러한 연구를 통하여 결혼이주여성의 드러나지 않은 삶의 경험을 공유하고자 하였다.

The purpose of this study is to investigate adapting to the marriage and work of Vietnamese immigrant married woman. The subject of this study is regarding the person A, vietnamese married immigrant woman. A has been living in Korea for 8 years, she has known the researcher for 2 years as a friend. The collected data was analyzed by narrative inquiry.
The major results of this study are as follow:
First, the choice of the marriage to Korean man was contributed by the Korean TV drama and influence of friends. A was also looking forward to having changes in her life. Second. at the beginning of marriage life A experienced difficult and painful time during the process of cross-cultural adaption such as different culture, custom, and relationship with parent-in-law. Third, the saddest and hardest days for A was thanksgiving day and new year's day in Korea. But when A has chance to talk to her friends with own language, she feels the happiness. Fourth, the starting of A's career life in Korea was done voluntarily. Since A has her job, she found the way to relieve stress and she is able to save money for the future and promote self-development. The results suggest that this study share experience of unrevealed lives of immigrant married women.
