朴致馥의 《大東續樂府》는 조선시대 사화를 수용하여 악부체시 형식을 빌어 쓴 영사악부로서 28편이나 되는 시 모두를 일컫는 시집 이름이다. 작가의 창작 동기는 《大東樂府》를 보고 조선 시대 역사가 빠져 있어서 이를 보충하려는 의도에서였다. 따라서 이 작품은 대동악부의 속편으로 조선 시대 사화를 중심 으로 지어진 것이다. 박치복의 《대동속악부》는 盧德奎의 《海東續樂府》와 내용이 같은데, 박치 복의 《대동속악부》가 원본이고 노덕규의 《해동속악부》는 박치복의 《대동 속악부》를 베낀 이본이다. 《대동속악부》는 조선시대의 王政, 烈行, 忠節, 學行, 孝行 등의 사화를 수용 하여 褒貶을 노래한 시로서 勸善懲惡의 교훈성을 지니며, 문학성과 역사성을 아울러 지니고 있다. 28편 모두를 1편 3수의 편법으로 구성하였으며, 장편의 서사성을 더하여, 일반 영사악부들이 지니는 문학성, 역사성, 교훈성을 뛰어 넘 는 특성을 지녔다. 특히 1편 3수의 편법과 장편 서사시로서의 구성과 표현은 우 리 나라는 물론 중국 고악부에서도 볼 수 없는 새로운 양식이다. 이를 통해서 작가의 충만한 표현 욕구에 의한 다양한 표현의 추구, 서사시의 다양한 변모, 연작시의 새로운 시도를 발견할 수 있다. 《대동속악부》는 중국의 악부에 대한 한국의 악부라는 개념이 바탕이 되어 서 우리의 역사와 우리의 노래를 중시한다는 작가의 역사의식에 의해 창작되었 다. 작품을 통해 작가의 서민의 삶에 대한 긍정, 조선 건국의 위대성, 충신, 열 녀, 학자, 효자의 아름다운 행실을 후대에 전승하려는 역사의식도 함융되어 있 음을 알 수 있다. 이러한 역사의식을 지니게 된 밑바탕에는 박치복의 역사관과 衛正斥邪 사상 이 깔려 있음을 지적할 수 있다. 대표적인 글이 ｢斥洋邪論｣이다. 《대동속악 부》에 나타난 악부시적 성격과 작가의 역사의식을 통해 나타난 양상은 한국악 부문학사는 물론 漢詩史에서 일정한 위치를 차지한다.

《Daedongsogakbu》, written by Park Chi-bok(1824-1894), is a collection of 28 song type poems about the history of the Joseon dynasty. He wrote the poems to complement the history of Joseon with the existing 《Daedongakbu》. In other words, the collection is a sequel to Daedongakbu, focusing on historical stories of Joseon. Park Chi-bok's 《Daedongsogakbu》 is the same as No Deok-gyu (盧德奎'1803-1869)s 《Haedongsogakbu(海東續樂府)》 in contents. Park Chi-bok's 《Daedongsogakbu》 is the original and No Deok-gyu's 《Haedongsogakbu》 is a different version that copied the former. 《Daedongsogakbu》 contains historical stories of Joseon about royal government, virtuous women, loyalty, scholars and filial conduct, so it gives lessons about promotion of virtue and reproval of vice, and it has literary and historical characteristics. Each poem of the collection is composed of 3 pieces of poetry. They have long-epic characteristics and surpass literary, historical and moral characteristics of general song poems. In particular, the style of "3 pieces in 1 poem" and long-epic composition and expression are a new style that cannot be found in old Chinese song poems and other Korean poems. Through these characteristics, the writer's desires and various expressions, a variety of epics and a new type of serial poetry can be found. 《Daedongsogakbu》 came from the writer's historical consciousness that our history and songs should be regarded highly as an independent Korean song poetry against Chinese song poetry. Throughout his work, positive view for commoners' lives, greatness of the founding of Joseon, and historical consciousness to hand down the beautiful conduct of loyal subjects, virtuous women, scholars and good sons are included.
