본 연구는 푸드아트 활동 프로그램 도구를 이용한 교육복지 아동 청소년을 위한 정서 지원 프로그램으로서 참여 대상자들의 자아존중감과 학교적응력 변화를 살펴보았으며 특히 교육복지 대상학교와 비대상학교를 비교함으로서 프로그램을 진행하는 과정을 통해 학교-지역사회자원-교육지원청의 상호 연계와 담당 방식 등을 통해 교육복지 실천방 법에 개입의 효과를 탐색하고자 하였다. 그 결과 푸드아트 프로그램의 활동을 통하여 질적 연구를 한 결과 학생들의 조금씩 변화가 일어나기 시작하였다. 자존감이 향상되어서 소극적으로 대하는 행동들을 적극적으로 대하기 시작하였고, 다른 친구에 대한 배려가 활동할 때마다 이루어졌다. 자신의 의견이 다른 학생들에게 용납되어지지 않을 때는 화도 내고, 계속 자신의 의견을 말했지만, 중기 이후부터는 다른 사람의 의견도 수용할 줄 알게 되는 변화를 가져 왔다. 양적 변화를 살펴본 자아존중감과 학교적응유연성의 변화에서 자아존중감이 사전검사 점수보다 사후검사의 점수가 14점이 높아졌고, 학교적응유연성은 13점이 높아졌다.
