목 적: 본 연구는 부모의 사회·경제적 요인과 초등학생의 눈 건강과의 관계를 확인함으로써 저소득층 학령기 아동의 눈 건강 불평등이 존재하는지를 확인하고자 한다. 방 법: 국민건강영양조사(2009) 데이터를 이용하여 만 7-12세의 초등학생 935명을 대상으로 일반적인 특성과 사회·경제적요인, 눈 건강 관련요인을 χ2 검정하였다. 결 과: 최근 1년간 눈검사 여부, 안경착용비율, 교정시력 1.0이상은 가구소득이 낮을수록 낮은 비율을 보였고, 근시 유병률, 원시 유병률, 자동굴절력계로 측정한 굴절이상도가 ``0~-2D``는 가구 소득이 낮을수록 높은 비율로 나타났다. 결 론: 부모의 사회경제적요인과 눈 건강의 관계를 χ2 검정한 결과 유의하지 않았지만, 유병률과 굴절이상도 등의 비율로 부모의 사회경제적 요인이 아동의 눈 건강에 영향을 미침을 알 수 있었고, 저소득층 학령기 아동의 눈 건강 불평등 해소를 위해 정기적인 시력검사와 재보정 기회 제공 등의 중·장기적인 안보건 정책이 필요할 것으로 사료된다.

Purpose: This study is to find out the presence of inequity in eye health maintenance of the primary school children who belongs low-income household group by analyzing relationships between parental socioeconomic status and eye health of the primary school children. Methods: Data of 935 primary school children, age from 7 to 12 years, were selected from the Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (2009). Chi-square tests were used to analyze the relationship between socioeconomic factors and eye health of the children subjects. Results: The low-income household group children shows less frequencies of the items such as number of times being eye examinations during last one year, ratio of wearing prescribed eye glasses, and corrected visual acuity was over 1.0. While other case of items shows higher frequencies such as myopia prevalence, hyperopia prevalence and refractive error was 0 to -2.00D. Conclusion: Chi-square tests revealed that eye health doesn`t seem to be affected by socioeconomic factor. It was able to find out that parents` socioeconomic factor affects eye health maintenance of children by prevalence rate and refractive error rate. It will be required a long-term eye health maintenance program to eliminate the presence of inequity in eye health of primary school children who belongs low-income household group.
