The Correltion between Spherical Power and Astigmatism in Visual Acuity for Myopic School Children under Cycloplegic Refraction
조절마비제는 Midrin-p(phenylephrine 1%, tropicamide 1%), Homatropine(homatropine 1%)를 사용하여 비교하였으며, 5분간 3회 투여하였다.
Purpose: The author investigated correlations between change of spherical power and astigmatism for myopic school children under the cycloplegic refractions. Materials & Methods : Among the children who felt visual disturbance for the first time, no experience of eyewear, the author tested visual acuity, spherical power and astigmatism. The medicine which were 1% Mydrin-p and 1% Homatropine used in cycloplegic refraction. The measurement of refractive power and astigmatism used by RK-5 (Canon, Japan). Results: According to two types of cyclogplegic medicine, the results of changes of visual acuity, spherical power and astigmatism were statistical different. The instillation of cycloplegic medicine evoked statistically the change of visual acuity and spherical power, in hence, astigmatism were not statistical different(p=0.23). Conclusion: The instillation of cycloplegic medicine could affect the change of visual acuity and refractive power. Decreasing the astigmatism can increase the visual acuity under the cycloplegic refraction in myopic school children.
