본 연구는 유아기 자녀를 둔 부부의 양육효능감 및 양육스트레스를 규명하고자 하였다. 본 연구목적을 위하여 경상남도 J시와 S시 어린이집 10곳에서 만 4세-5세 유아 254명의 부와 모를 각각 254명씩 쌍으로 설문지를 수집하였고, SPSS 21.0 통계 프로그램을 사용하여 분석 하였다.
연구결과, 첫째, 유아기 자녀를 둔 부부의 양육효능감은 보통 수준이며, 부부의 양육스트레 스는 낮게 나타났다. 부부비교에서 부부간 양육효능감은 차이가 나지 않았고, 양육스트레스는 아내가 남편보다 높은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 부부의 양육효능감에는 사회인구학적인 변인과 심리적 변인이 모두 관련 변인으로 나타났다. 남편의 양육스트레스 변인에는 남편의 학력과 자아존중감, 아내의 자아존중감 등이 나타났으며, 아내의 양육스트레스 변인에는 종교, 자녀 수, 남편의 학력, 아내와 남편의 자아존중감 등이 나타났다. 셋째, 부부의 양육효능감과 양육스 트레스 간의 상관관계에서 아내의 양육효능감은 남편의 양육효능감과 아내의 양육스트레스는 남편의 양육스트레스와 강한 정적인 상관관계를 가지는 것으로 나타났다.
본 연구는 부부의 양육효능감을 높이고 양육스트레스를 낮추는 방안 모색에 유용한 기초 자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the degree of the parenting efficacy and parenting stress of fathers when raising their young children. The subjects used in this study include 254 fathers of 4∼5 year-old young children who live in J- and S-cities of Gyeongsang-Namdo, Korea. All the data are computed and analyzed-using SPSS 21.0 package program.
The results of this study are as follows: First, the efficacy of parents was measured as being at a moderate-level, when their parenting stress level was low. Second, the parenting efficacy of parents relied mainly on their social-economic and psychological status. The parenting stress of fathers largely depended upon their educational level and the self-esteem of their fathers and mothers, whereas the parenting stress of mothers primarily depended on their religion, the educational level of their husbands, and the mothers’ self-esteem. Third, the parenting-efficacy and parenting-stress of mothers had a positive relationship with those of fathers.
The results can provide useful information for developing successful education-programs for parents to efficiently foster their young children with higher satisfaction and low.
