본 연구는 다문화사회를 맞이하고 있는 우리의 현실 속에서 기독교적 대응을 총체적 복음 사역을 중심으로 전개해야 한다는 것을 주장한 것이다. 한국사회는 이제 단일민족이란 특성에서 다문화사회로 진입하였다. 이러한 사회적 변화는 긍정적인 면과 부정적인 면 모두가 있다. 특히 선진국들이 다문화정책에 실패했다고 선언하는 상황 속에서 다문 화사회의 현실적 이해를 분명히 하고 기독교적 대응을 어떻게 해야 할 것인지에 대하여 그 방향을 모색해야 한다. 그 결론은 다문화사회 속에서 기독교적 대응은 총체적 복음사역이 그 중심이 되어야 한다는 것이다. 다문화사회는 긍정적인 면만 있는 것이 아니라 부정적인 면도 분명히 있다. 긍정적인 면이라면 해외에 있는 족속들에게 복음을 전할 수 있는 길이 국내에서도 전개될 수 있다는 것이다. 그런데 이슬람 문화의 유입은 매우 부정적인 측면이 있다는 것을 간과해서는 안 된다. 이슬람 문화는 일반적으로 의미하는 다문화주의라는 개념을 적용할 수 있는 것이 아니기 때문이다. 이러한 이유로 인하여 오히려 이슬람 문화 즉 이슬람 종교적 영향이 우리나라에 깊이 자리 잡고 그 영향력을 행사할 수 있다. 이러한 현실 속에서 기독교적 대응을 마련하기는 쉽지 않다. 그런데 총체적 복음사역으로 다문화사회 속에서 접근한다면 하나의 핵심적인 대안이 될 수 있다. 총체적 복음 사역은 하나님의 복음을 전하면서 동시에 다문화 사람들의 아픔과 고통도 함께 치유하고 회복하기 때문이다.

This study argues that the Christian response should be centered on the Holistic Gospel ministry in the multicultural society. Korean society has now entered a multicultural society from the characteristics of a single race nation. This social change has both positive and negative aspects. In particular, in the context of the declaration that developed countries have failed in multicultural policy, it is necessary to clarify the real understanding of multicultural society and we have to grope how Christian respond to it. The conclusion is that holistic gospel ministry should be the center as the Christian response for the multicultural society. The multicultural society has not only positive aspects but also negative ones. On the positive side, it is possible to spread the gospel to overseas peoples in Korea. However, the influx of Islamic culture should not be neglected. This is because Islamic culture can not be applied to the general concept of multiculturalism. For this reason, Islamic culture, ie Islamic religious influence, can be deeply embedded in Korea and exercised its influence. It is not easy to establish a Christian response in this reality. However, it can be a key alternative if it is approached in a multicultural society through the holistic gospel ministry. The overall gospel ministry conveys the gospel of God and simultaneously heals and restores the pain and suffering of multicultural people.
