21세기 선교지의 다양한 위기상황 가운데 성적탈선의 문제는 선교사로서의 명예실추, 사역의 중단, 상대방의 피해, 그리고 선교지와 기독교계 전체에 피해를 입히는 매우 큰 문제이다. 그동안 이 문제를 개인적인 문제로만 치부하면서 심각하게 다루지는 않았다. 그러나 최근 전국 주요 언론 기사들은 목회자들의 성윤리 예방을 한국교회의 이미지 회복을 위한 중요 방안 중 하나로 꼽았다. 그것은 한국기독교 지도자들의 성윤리 하락과 이미지 실추를 의미하며, 선교현장에서도 유사한 현상이 나타낸다. 이런 현상은 과거에는 묻혀서 지나갔을 문제 들이 언론과 상담기관, 법제정 강화 등 사회적 시스템의 강화로 인해 양성화되었기 때문에 부각되었다고 볼 수 있다. 종교개혁 500주년을 맞아 수많은 개혁과제들의 제안들 가운데 성적탈선 예방에 관한 문제에 대해서는 아쉽게도 침묵하고 있다. 본고는 성윤리에 대한 성경신학적 입장을 밝히고, 최근 선교지에서 일어난 성폭력 사례들을 분석하고, 국내 주요 선교단체들의 성윤리예방과 추후조치 시스템을 조사하고, 향후 성적 탈선 예방을 위한 대안들을 제시하였다.

Among various crises confronting the mission fields of today, the problem of sexual misconduct is the one that not only dishonors the individual missionary but also brings tremendous damages to the whole Christian communities. Major journalists in Korea suggested sexual ethics as one of the important ways to restore reputation to Korean Church. That means that the church and missional leaders have been often involved with sexual scandals and greatly damaged the reputation of Christianity. The present paper proposes the Biblical theological positions on the issue, analyzes recent sexual violences committed in mission fields, researches the preventive and post-management systems of major Korean missional organizations, and presents ways to prevent sexual derailment.
