오늘날 입체조형예술의 흐름은 이전의 세분화된 장르나 전공별 제작기법 등의 전문화된 개념 보다는 대중적이며 종합적이 고 보편화된 예술적 가치에 큰 무게를 두고 있다. 이는 현대사회가 가지는 융합과 협업이라는 새로운 문화상이 깊이 자리 잡으면서 생긴 현상으로 미래의 입체조형예술의 흐름을 가늠해 볼 수 있는 척도로 인식하기에도 부족함이 없어 보인다. 하지만 한국에서의 예술에 대한 의식은 매우 보수적이며 전공의 구분이 분명하고 작품제작 방식에 있어서도 전통적인 재료 와 제작기법 등이 주류를 이루고 있으며, 현재 왕성한 활동을 하고 있는 작가를 지칭함에 있어서도 조각가, 제품디자이너, 시각디자이너 등의 구분된 직업군으로 나뉘고 있다. 그러나 실제 예술의 각 분야는 상호간에 영향을 끊임없이 주고받고 있 으며 제작된 작품에서는 분야의 구분이 불가능한 결과물을 쉽게 찾아 볼 수 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 현재 한국사회에서 제작, 설치되고 있는 입체조형작품들 중에서 상징조형물(미술장식품)에 관하여 각기 다른 전공의 작가들이 가지는 예술에 관한 개념과 작품에 관한 인식의 차이를 파악하였다. 연구방법으로 대상을 순수미술(조각)과 디자인분야의 전공자들로 구 분하여 Q방법론적 설문방식으로 조사를 실시하고 그 결과를 심층적으로 분석, 3가지 유형으로 분류하여 그 인식의 차이를 규명하고자 하였다. 이를 통해 향후 양 분야의 조형물 제작을 위한 상호 보완의 기회를 모색해 보고자 한다.

Today, the trend of three-dimensional sculpture is largely centered on the mass, comprehensive and generalized arts values rather than specialized concepts, such as specialized genres and specialized techniques. This is a phenomenon where a new culture of convergence and cooperation in the modern society is deeply rooted, but it is not enough to recognize the trend of finding the trend of three-dimensional sculpture in the future. However, the ritual of art in Korea is very conservative, and the distinction between traditional specialties and traditional ingredients in the production process is mainstream, and the author is divided into segments of distinguished professions such as sculptors, product designers and visual designers. However, each field of art is constantly engaged in interactions with each other, making it easy to identify the outcome of a division that is impossible to distinguish between the fields. In this paper, we want to understand the differences in the notions of art and works of art regarding the art of sculpture, which is currently produced in Korean society. We aim to identify the differences between the two disciplines by dividing the subject into a purely fine art (sculpture) and design field of art, and to analyze the results of the findings in depth analysis and to explore the opportunities for mutual improvement in both fields.
