동래학춤은 동래 지역 덧배기춤의 한 유형으로, 학의 거동과 동래 지역의 독특한 지형 등이 춤으로 반영되어 만들어진 것이다. 본 연구에서는 동래학춤에 영향을 미친 덧배기춤과 한량춤의 몇몇 춤사위를 분석함으로써, 동래학춤의 춤사위에 담긴 미적 특징의 양상들을 분석해 보았다. 동래학춤을 춤의‘형성’과‘연희’의 측면으로 나누어 보면, 전자로부터는 동래 지역 덧배기춤의 동적이고 남성적인 성격이, 후자로부터는 한량춤으로 이어지는 풍류적이고 예술적인 성격이 드 러남을 알 수 있었다. 이에 본론에서는 크게‘덧배기춤’과‘한량춤’의 두 가지 요소들을 통해 동래학춤을 분석하고, 각각의 미적 특징들을 도출해 보았다. 먼저 덧배기춤으로는‘즉흥춤’과‘배김사위’라는 두 가지 특징을 통해 동래학춤의 미적 특징을 분석해 보았고, 한량춤으로는 다시‘소매걷음사위’와‘소쿠리사위’라는 두 가지 특징을 통해 동 래학춤의 미적 특징을 제시해 보았다. 이러한 분석과정을 통해 다음과 같은 사항들을 알 수 있 었다. 첫째, 덧배기춤의‘즉흥춤’적인 성격은 동래학춤에서‘자연미’라는 미적 특징으로 발전되었다. 둘째, 덧배기춤의‘배김사위’는 동래학춤에서‘흥취’라는 미적 특징을 만들어냈는데, 이때 동래 학춤의‘흥취’가 갖는 독특한 성격은 크게 세 가지로 구분할 수 있었다. 셋째, 한량춤의‘소매 걷음사위’는 동래학춤의‘세련미’에 기여하였다. 넷째, 한량춤의‘소쿠리사위’는 동래학춤의 ‘격조미’를 진작시키고 있다. 본 연구에서는 우선 동래학춤을 덧배기춤과 한량춤의 요소로 구분하여 그 두 가지 대조적인 성 격이 동래학춤에 함께 반영되어 있음을 밝혔다. 다음으로는 덧배기춤과 한량춤의 요소들을 통해 동래학춤을 분석하여 첫째 자연미, 둘째 흥취, 셋째 세련미, 넷째 격조미라는 미적 특징을 분류 하고 각각의 양상들을 제시하였다.

Dongraehak dance is one of Dongrae local‘Dutbagi dances’. It was created based on the unique terrain of Dongrae and elegant movement of cranes(‘hak’). This paper studies aesthetic features of this dance by analyzing Dutbagi dance and Hanryang dance which influence Dongrae dance styles. Dongraehak dance can be analyzed by its‘formation’and‘theatrical performance’. The former reflects dynamic and masculine characteristic of Dongrae Dutbagi dance and the latter adopts poetical and artistic characteristic of Hanryang dance or Gibang dance. Aesthetic characteristics from Dutbagi dance and Gibang dance will be the main elements in analysing Dongraehak dance. Dongraehak dances aesthetic characteristics are analyzed by‘improvisation’and‘Beagim dance’of Dutbagi dance style and also by‘Sleeve rolling dance’and‘Basket dance’from the Hanryang dance style. The results of this analysis suggest the following. First, the‘improvisation’of Dutbagi dance developed into‘natural beauty’portrayed in Dongraehak dance. Second, the‘Baegim dance’of Dutbagi dance draws‘excitement’as an aesthetic color of Dongraehak dance. This unique‘excitement’in Dongrahak dance can be interpreted in three aspects. Third, the‘Sleeve rolling dance’of Hanryang dance contributed to bringing‘elegance’in Dongraehak dance. Fourth,‘Basket dance’of Hanryang dance leads to‘nobility’of Dongraehak dance. This study concludes that two constrasting features of Dutbagi dance and Hanryang dance are both reflected in Dongraehak dance. Moreover, the study suggests and divides different aesthetic characteristics of Dongraehak dance into‘natural beauty’,‘excitement’, ‘elegance’and‘nobility’by using elements of Dutbagi dance and Hanryang dance.
