본 연구는 거래비용과 교섭력 관점에 기반하여 합작지분 증가에 영향을 미치는 요인을 한국기업의 해외합작투자 사례를 대상으로 실증 분석하였다. 본 연구 결과에 의하면 다수지분자의 경우 지분이 증가하는 경향을 보였다. 또한 합작사업에 공헌하는 기술을 보유하고 있는 기업일수록, 해외사업경험을 많이 보유하고 있는 기업일수록 합작 후 지분을 증가시키는 경향이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 현지정부 규제는 합작지분 증가에 영향이 없는 것으로 분석되었다.

By employing transaction cost theory and bargaining power model this study analyzed the determinants of the increase in equity of Korean overseas joint ventures. According to the results of this study, Korean firms with majority equity at the time of entry into foreign markets had a greater tendency to increase in their equities later. In addition, Korean firms with more technological know-how and international experience had a greater tendency to increase their equities. However, host conutry government regulation did not affect the increase in equity of joint ventures.
