서론 : 본 연구의 목적은 선천성 척수성 근 위축증 환자에게 고급보조공학을 적용한 사례연구를 통하여 고급보조 공학 적용의 확대와 관심을 높이는데 있다.
본론 : 대학병원에서 재활치료를 받고 있는 선천성 척수성 근위축증 2형(SMA type II)인 중증장애인에게 고급보조공학 기기인 동공인식보조기기(TM 2)를 이용한 사례를 보고하였다. 기본적인 의사소통뿐 아니라 보호자의 도움을 받지 못하면 스스로 전혀 할 수 없었던 활동영역이 보조공학기기의 적용으로 확대되면서, 전반적인 의사소통 및 일상생활활동의 자신감이 향상되었다.
결론 : 척수성 근 위축증 환자는 모든 일상생활과 기타활동에 전적으로 보호자에게 의존해야 하지만, 고급보조공학의 사용으로 여러 가지 활동을 스스로 할 수 있었다. 이러한 결과로 고급보조공학의 적절한 적용은 다른 중증장애인에게도 삶의 질을 높일 수 있는 큰 역할을 할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

Introduction : The purpose of this study was to make a case study with spinal muscular dystrophy-typeⅡ patient by applying assistive technology in an attempt to extend the coverage of assistive technology and raise awareness of high tech assistive technology.
Body : The subjects in this study were diagnosed with spinal muscular dystrophy-typeⅡ patient who were treated in university hospital. For the subject, we carried out applying the TM 2 model of assistive technology. As a result of checking their pre- and post-confidence with their own performance, they expressed better confidence after assistive technology was applied.
Conclusion : According to the study results, high tech assistive technology influence on occupational performance and positive changing of life with physical impairment person.
