본 연구는 우리나라 고교육상선수들의 성별과 노력정도에 따라 성공지각과 수행전략의 차이를 검증하고 성공지각과 수행전략 간에 어떠한 관계가 있는지를 분석하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 435(남;293, 여;142)명의 고교육상선수를 대상으로 성공지각 질문지(POSQ), 수행전략 질문지(TOPS)를 이용하여 자료를 수집하였다. 먼저 성별과 노력정도별 수행전략과 성공지각의 차이에 대한 이원변량분석을 검증한 결과 수행전략의 긴장풀기와 컨디션조절에서 남자선수들이 높은 개념을 보이고 있었다. 또한 노력의 정도에 따른 수행전략과 성공지각을 검증한 결과 열심히 노력하는 선수집단이 감정조절을 제외한 혼잣말, 심상과 목표설정, 긴장풀기, 컨디션조절의 수행전략이 높게 나타났으며, 성공지각(과제/자아)의 개념을 높게 평가하고 있었다. 또한 수행전략의 하위요인과 성공지각의 하위요인은 대부분 긍정적인 상관계수를 나타내었다. 나아가 성공지각과 수행전략의 관계에 대한 회귀분석을 시행한 결과 남․녀 모두 성공과제 요인이 수행전략의 심상 및 목표 설정, 컨디션조절 요인을 예측하는 변인인 것으로 밝혀졌다. 그리고 노력의 정도에 따른 분석결과, 보통으로 노력하는 선수들은 성공지각이 수행전략의 혼잣말을 의미 있게 설명하는 것으로 나타났다. 중요하게는 노력을 많이 하는 선수들은 성공과제가 컨디션조절과 심상 및 목표설정 요인에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 선행연구와 이론, 그리고 본 연구자의 견해를 토대로 논의를 기술하였다.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the changes in perceptions of success and performance strategy depending upon the sexuality and the level of effort, and the relationships among highschool track and field athletes. Four hundred thirty five highschool track and field athletes completed TOPS and POSQ. Results showed that male athletes displayed higher relaxation and condition control scores. Also, athletes putting best efforts showed higher self-talk, imagery, goal setting, relaxation, condition control scores as well as the perception of success. Overall, variables between performance strategy and perceptions of success had positive correlations. Further, stepwise regression analysis results supported that idea that the condition control, imagery, and goal setting factors of performance strategy can best estimate the success. Among the athletes putting medium amount of effort, the self-talk could significantly explain factors in perceptions of success. Following discussion was based on the set results and previous studies.
