본 연구의 목적은 중학생들의 체육 성취목표와 사회적 목표가 학습과제의 지속에 미치는 매개 및 중재효과를 검증하는 것이다. 남녀 중학생 406명(남학생 217명, 여학생 189명)이 2×2 체육 성취목표, 사회적 목표 및 과제 지속 질문지에 응답하였다. 자료분석은 기술통계, 상관분석, 일원 다변량분석, 중다공변량분석, 위계적 회귀분석이 이용되었다. 다변량분석의 결과 남학생이 여학생보다 숙달접근, 수행접근, 숙달회피목표, 사회적 목표 및 과제 지속 수준이 높았다. 위계적 회귀분석의 결과 숙달접근과 수행접근 목표가 직접적으로 뿐만 아니라 사회적 관계와 책임감 목표를 통해 중학생들의 과제 지속에 부분적으로 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 과제 지속에 대한 성취목표와 사회적 목표의 상호작용 효과는 나타나지 않았다. 본 연구의 결과는 체육수업 중 학생들의 과제 지속과 노력에 영향을 미치는 동기적변인들과 관련하여 논의되었다.

The purpose of this study was to test mediated and moderated effects of achievement goals and social goals on middle school students' task persistence in physical education classes. 406 students (217 boys, 189 girls) responded to questionnaires of 2×2 achievement goals, social goals, and task persistence. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, one-way MANOVA, MANCOVA, correlation, and hierarchical regression analysis. The results of MANOVA indicated that boys's scores in mastery-approach, performance-approach, mastery-avoidance goals, relation goals, responsibility goal, and task persistence were higher than those of girls. The results of hierarchical regression analysis showed that mastery-approach and performance-approach goals influenced a direct positive effects as well as partial effects on task persistence through each of two social goals. But the interaction between achievement goals and social goals did not act as significant predictors of task persistence. These results were discussed with some of motivational variables affecting to students' task persistence and efforts during physical education classes.
