왕안이가 ≪弟兄們≫에서 우리에게 주는 회답은 비관적이다. 이 작품에서 말하고자 하는 바는 여성의 비극은 바로 물질적 현실생활(문화가 규정한 삶의 양식)에서 벗어날 수 없기 때문이라고 말하고 있는 듯하다. 그러나 사람은 물질적 생활에서 벗어날 수 없고, 작가는 이런 상황을 완전히 수긍할 수만은 없기에, 여성의식 실현의 가능성에 대한 모색을 하고 있다고 할 수 있다. 라오따、라오얼과 라오싼은 여성의식의 정도가 각기 다른 세 여성을 대표한다. 그 중 라오얼의 여성의식이 가장 높다고 할 수 있다. 라오얼은 의기소침한 적도 있지만 생활 속에서 자신의 생각을 추구하고자 노력한다. 라오얼의 강인함과 여성의식이 가장 잘 표현된 것은 그녀가 라오따 남편과 충돌하는 장면에 잘 드러난다. 라오따의 남편이 라오얼에게 아이가 다친 책임을 지우며 그녀에게 당장 그의 집을 떠나라고 할 때, 라오얼은 떨리는 목소리로 “나는 가지 않을 것이다. 이 집은 당신 혼자만의 집이 아니야”라고 반격한다. 이 한마디 말은 남성의식을 향한 반격이라 할 수 있다. 여성이 가정에서 동등한 발언권과 결정권이 있음을 이야기 한 것이다.

Wang An Yi’s creation reveals a unique perspective of woman, and has been noticed by Chinese feminism critics in the Chinese literature during the 1980s and 1990s. Wang An Yi’s Brothers analyzed in this paper is about the story of three married women, unlike the title. This work pursues women’s self-awareness, sisterhood love, and the interaction of sisterhood love in the self-awareness process. Also, this work casts a question about how long the relationships depending on only a spiritual aspect beyond a materialistic aspect among three women will last. This novel is unfolding the description of sisterhood love and is about proving it. The novel actually establishes a theory and simultaneously dissolves the theory with the story within the novel. This paper intends to investigate the writer’s way through the establishment and dissolution of a theory, which is the novelist’s writing type.
