On the Interaction between Literati and Female Impersonators in the Ming and Qing Dynasties
明代中期到清末,男旦演员走红于剧场,也出入于茶楼、酒庄等场合, 替代女伎成为风月场中的主角。文人与男旦演员的交往日益增多。文人与男 旦交往,实际上类似于传统的文人与妓女的交往,是诗、曲、酒相激相励模 式的延续。
From the middle of the Ming dynasty to the end of the Qing dynasty, female impersonators, in place of prostitutes, are popular in theatres, tea‐rooms and restaurants. Interactions between literati and female impersonators were getting more and more consequently. Basically, the mode was just as the interaction between literati and prostitutes. It was a change of traditional pattern of poetry, singing and alcohol.
