2010년 1월부터 1011년 9월에 걸쳐 조선철강 업체가 밀집하고 있는 목포내항, 광양만 그리고 비교구인 신안증도 해역 을 중심으로 저층퇴적물 내의 중금속 함량을 조사하여 지점별 해역별 오염도를 비교 분석하였다. 목포내항에서는 비교구 지점보다 높게 분포하고 있었고 특히, 선박수리 해체 업체의 플로팅도크 주변해역에서 높게 분포하고 있었다. EPA 기준치와 ERL의 기준치와 비교해서는 카드뮴과 구리, 크롬은 높았고 납은 3개 정점이 초과 하였으나 그 외 정점에서는 기준치 이하 농도였다. 아연은 전 정점에서 기준치보다 낮게 분포하였다. 앞으로 광양만과 신안군 증도 해역의 퇴적물내의 중금속 함량과 비교하고 부화지수와 농집지수 등을 통해 퇴적물의 중금속의 오염도를 평가할 계획이다

The purpose of this study was estimated pollution of trace metals in sediment of shipbuilding & steel industrial Mokpo inner bay and Kwang-Yang Bay and compared sea area of ShinAn-JongDo from Januaray 2010 to August 2011. The results show that the shipbuilding & steel industrial sea area have more contents of trace metals in sediment than compared sea area. Cd, Cu and Cr showed more pollution level compare to EPA and ERL. hereafter we will estimate and compare to KwangYang Bay and ShinAn-JongDo coastal sediment using enrichment factor and index of geoaccumulation.
