휴먼 비트박스의 경우 거리에서 생겨난 문화로 특정한 기예(技藝)나 특정 장르에서 보컬을 받쳐주는 정도로 여겨져, 특정 방법론이 존재한다고 예측하기 보다는 개인의 즉흥적 능력치에 의존한다 생각하기 쉽다. 물론 개인의 능력에 상당히 의존하는 부분도 있지만, 효과적인 사운 드의 구성을 위한 일정한 방법론 또한 그에 준하여 존재한다. 본 연구는 바로 이러한 휴먼 비 트박스의 방법론을 제시하는 것에 그 목적을 두고 연구한다. 휴먼 비트박스와 루핑 머신을 이 용하는 스트릿 아티스트 Dub Fx는 휴먼 비트박스를 주로 사용해 힙합과 레게 기반의 음악을 연주하는 뮤지션으로 그의 음악 특성은 다음과 같이 분석된다. 첫째, 휴먼 비트박스 패턴만이 아닌 다른 악기들도 사용하기에 간단한 진행의 비트 패턴을 사용한다. 둘째, 악기의 구성은 적게는 두 가지, 많게는 네 가지 정도의 간단한 구성으로 빠르게 음악을 만들어 간다. 셋째, 악기를 사용하는 일정한 순서가 존재하며 그 순서는 비트, 베이스, 보컬 이펙트, 그리고 그 외의 인스트루멘탈(Instrumental)의 순이다. 또한 과도한 리버브의 효과를 주어서 사운드를 채우기도 한다. Dub Fx의 작업을 토대로 본 휴먼 비트박스를 사용한 음악 제작 과정에는 일정 한 규칙이 존재한다는 결과가 도출되며 효과적인 사운드의 구성을 위해 적용된 위의 규칙들은 힙합뿐만이 아닌, 일렉트로닉 뮤직, 재즈 등 즉흥성을 바탕으로 한 여러 타 장르에도 어울릴 수 있는 가능성을 제시한다.

Although human beatbox is widely adopted in various sectors not limited to a certain genre or method, there is little previous research compared to its sector and availability. Thus, it is necessary to arrange human beatbox itself. In addition to the role of rhythm instrument of human beatbox, this study investigates performing methods by using looping machine along with the expression of DJing sound, electronic instruments, and brass, and ultimately expands the sector. Dub Fx playing method that uses human beatbox and looping machine plays hiphop and reggae-based music. It shows different patterns from artists who generally play electronic music. It is worthwhile to conducting research on the way of producing music with the pattern of human beatbox, human beatbox instruments, and sound effects as its unique styles. The aim of this study is to arrange human beatbox and propose fields where solo artist can express by studying playing methods of Dub Fx. Artists incapable of representing human beatbox can expand the limitations of music expression by using the combination of looping machine with musical instruments.
