헤어드레서 전문인 선교는 각자가 살고 있는 지역사회 속에서 전문적인 헤어기술로 사회봉사를 하면서, 빛과 소금의 역할을 하는 것이다. 특별히 뉴질랜드의 총 인구 433만 명 가운데 헤어드레서 종사자는 11,457명이다. 이러한 수치는 헤어드레서 1명 당 377명을 감당해야 하는 것으로써 직업부족 직종에 해당하여 사회적 대우와 근무환경이 한국보다 월등하다. 주 40시간 근무에 시간당 $19-32이상 의 임금을 지급 받고, 시간외 수당도 1.5배-2배까지 받을 수 있는 여건이다. 특수한 경제실정으로 인해 헤어커트 봉사는 소외되고, 가난 한 지역사회 주민들에게 매력적이다. 헤어드레서 전문인 선교사는 좋은 작업환경과 무자본으로 지역사회 속에서 사회봉사, 기술교육, 상담 등의 사역을 하고, 지역주민과 원활한 소통을 하며, 복음을 전하는 가교의 역할을 한다. 또한 선교사는 복음으로 인해 회심한 자를 만나게 되면, 그 제자와 함께 동거동락하고, 영육간의 필요를 채워주며, 제자 양육이 가능하다. 한 명의 제자가 또 다른 제자의 영적 성숙이 이루어지 기까지 도와주고, 책임져 주면, 제자 삼는 재생산은 계속 이어지고, 효과적인 전문인 선교의 동력이 될 것이다.

The tentmaking professional hairdresser missionaries are to serve and to impact their communities as salt and light. In particular, there are only 11,456 hairdressers for the population of about 5 million in New Zealand. A shortage of hairdressers in the region provides a better income and working environment in New Zealand. For this, the haircut mission works attract local residents well for tentmaking hairdresser missionaries to serve as a bridge to spread the Gospel without the necessity of capital on hand. They can also reside with the converts supporting their spiritual needs cultivating discipleship where one disciple can lead another to grow spiritually to become a disciple. This provides an effective driving force for tentmaking mission works in the reproduction of disciple making.
