죽은 사람의 영혼을 극락세계로 보내고자 하는 망자 천도 굿으 로 알려진 진오기 굿은 전국적으로 다양한 형태가 있으며 전승본 또한 상당히 많다. 그 중 오래 전부터 서울 지역의 대표적인 의 례로 사용되어 온 진오기 굿은 바리공주 무가가 포함되어 있다. 바리공주는 다음 해(길년)에 결혼해야 아들을 얻는다는 무속 인의 조언을 듣지 않고, 혼인한 오구대왕의 일곱째 딸로 태어 났다. 그러나 태어나자마자 부모에게 버림을 받았다. 그 후 부 모가 병환이 깊어져 승전내시, 제조상궁뿐만 아니라 손위 공주 들 모두가 부모를 보살피려고 하지 않았다. 단지 바리공주만이 부모를 위해 효행을 떠나 무장승을 만나 일곱 아들을 낳고 약 류수를 구한 뒤 돌아와 부모를 구하였다. 그 후에도 바리공주 는 지위를 복원하기보다는 무속인의 삶을 택하였는데 이러한 일대기를 바리공주 무가에 담고 있다. 특히 바리공주 무가는 서울 굿의 말미에 행해진다. 이는 다른 지역에서 전승된 무가에 비해 이야기의 전개가 논리적이고 바리 공주의 일련의 행위가 지닌 교훈적 의미와 재생적 무속의 의미가 잘 나타나 있다. 그러나 서울지역에서도 구전되는 내용과 표현에 다소 차이가 있다. 그러므로 서울 굿을 중심으로 현재 구연되는 바리공주 무가를 보다 상세하게 분석하고자 하였다. 그리고 바리 공주 무가에 효에 관한 내용이 중심이었음을 알 수 있었다. 이는 현대 사회에 시사하는 바가 크다. 더욱 바리공주의 신분과 범상 치 않은 일대기를 통해 무속인의 태생적 신분을 암시하고 있음을 알았다. 아울러 진오기굿 내에서 망자의 극락왕생을 기원하며 후 손을 치유하는 역할을 하였다. 그러므로 이는 후대에 계속적으로 전승될 것으로 보이며 더욱 연구되어야 할 것으로 생각된다.

There are various and numerous types of transmitted copies in Jinogi-gut (exorcism), also called Mangjacheondo-gut. Jinogi-gut with Princess Bari has been a representative ritual in Seoul for a long time. In the myth of Princess Bari, a shaman advised King Ogu that he might marry the following fortunate year if he would like to have three sons. However, King Ogu ignored the advice, married in that year, and got seven daughters. Princess Bari was born as the seventh daughter of King Ogu but abandoned and raised by others. Nevertheless, when the parents became ill, she went to get a remedy for her parents. Finally, she saved her parents. After that, she could live as a princess, but refused a wealth and prosperity and made a decision to be a shaman. Among the various Princess Bari myth which differs in content and expression depending on the region, the story development of Princess Bari in the Seoul region is more logical, and the instructive and regenerative meaning of the behaviors of Princess Bari represented well than others. Thus, we tried to record the narrated Princess Bari myth of the Seoul region, in detail. The Princess Bari myth seems to focus on the traditional filial piety, and it suggests what the identity of the shaman is, and heals the grief of the descendants by praying for rebirth in the paradise of the dead. For this reason, we expect it to pass on to future generations continuously.
