지방소멸의 위험에 직면하여 본 연구는 지역 사회적 자본 접근법을 활 용하여 정책 방안을 모색해보고자 한다. 이 연구에서는 지방소멸 속도가 가장 빠른 전라남도와 전라북도를 분석 대상으로 수도권인 서울, 경기, 인천의 사회적 자본 특성을 비교하고, 전라남북도의 지역 사회적 자본과 공동체와 결사체 참여를 활성화할 수 있는 변인을 추출하고자 했다. 연 구방법론은 이메일 설문조사를 사용한 계량적 방법론을 적용했다. 분석 결과 수도권과 전라남북도의 지역 사회적 자본은 차이가 있었다. 그리고 전라남북도 시민들의 사회적 자본과 공동체, 결사체 참여의 인과성을 지 방소멸의 완화 관점에서 세부적으로 분석할 필요가 있다. 그리고 전라남 북도 시민의 의식 속에 자리 잡은 지역 네트워크와 신뢰를 실마리로 지 방소멸의 해결책을 모색할 필요가 있다.

Faced with the risk of local extinction, this study seeks policy measures using a local social capital approach. In this study, Jeollanam-do and Jeollabuk-do, where the rate of local extinction is the fastest, were analyzed to compare the characteristics of social capital in the metropolitan area, and to extract variables that could activate local social capital and participation in communities and associations. As for the research methodology, a quantitative methodology using an email survey was applied. As a result of the analysis, there were differences in social capital in each region in Korea. In addition, it is necessary to analyze in detail the causality of local citizens' participation in social capital, communities, and associations from the perspective of mitigating local extinction.
