이 연구는 국외입양동포 한국어 교육에 관한 현황 및 문제점을 살펴보 고 국외입양동포에 대한 한국어 교육 실시의 개선방안을 모색하는 데에 목적이 있다. 이를 위하여 본 연구는 선행 문헌 분석과 함께 관련 기관 및 단체에 대한 서면 질의 및 정보 공개 청구와 같은 조사 활동을 병행 하였다. 국외입양동포에 대한 한국어 교육은 단순히 한국어로의 의사소 통 능력을 키우는데 그치지 않고, 자아정체성의 정립에 도움을 줌으로써 자아존중감 및 삶의 질 향상에 기여하게 된다. 이와 같이 국외입양동포 에 대한 한국어 교육이 중요한 의미를 갖지만 실제로 한국어 교육 실시 사례가 그리 많지 않으며 학계에서의 논의도 미미한 것으로 나타난다. 이러한 배경에서 본 연구는 국외입양동포를 대상으로 하여 국내외에서 실시되고 있는 한국어 교육 프로그램을 살펴보고 쟁점을 도출한 후 개선 방안을 제시하였다.

This study aims to investigate the current state and problems of Korean education for international Korean adoptees and search for ways to improve its implementation. For these efforts, the study analyzed the old literature and did research activities such as sending written questions and information disclosure requests to related agencies and organizations. Korean education for international Korean adoptees contributes to their higher self-esteem and quality of life by helping them establish their ego identity beyond simply increasing their communication skills in Korean. Korean education for international Korean adoptees holds such important significance, but there are not many cases of its implementation with poor discussions about it within academic circles. Against this backdrop, the study examined Korean education programs currently being provided to international Korean adoptees at home and abroad, identified their issues, and proposed improvement measures.
