미국과 일본 등 선진국 베이비붐 세대의 은퇴와 노후준비정책에 대한 비교 분석을 통하여 이들 이 경험했던 생애과정 및 국가별 정책과 제도를 연구함으로써 우리나라 베이비붐세대의 은퇴·노후 준비에 효과적으로 대처할 수 있는 방향을 제시하고 정책과 제도개선에 대한 사회적 함의를 도출 하고자 하였다. 연구결과 국가의 노후준비관련 정책은 장기적인계획으로서 오랜 기간 동안 단계별 준비를 해왔다는 것이 미국·일본 등 선진국 노후준비관련정책의 공통된 특징이었다. 또한 진정한 은퇴·노후준비의 가치와 본질의 추구를 위하여 개인에게 요구되는 키워드는 ‘소득·관계·학습’으로 요약할 수 있다.

This study is for drawing of social agreement for the policy and institutional improvement with signposting for general direction to cope with an effective retirement and preparation of baby boom generation in Korea through understanding that U.S.A and Japan and other advanced countries’comparative analysis with the retirement and preparation policy of baby boom generation, and through study for these have experienced life and their regional policies and institutions. Studies show that U.S.A·Japan and other advanced countries’common characteristics on nations’retirement and preparation policies which is prepared for a long period stages as a long-term plan. Also for pursuit of the nature and value of true retirement and preparation personally required keyword are‘Income·Relationships and Academic’that can be summed up.
