洪烟眞訣은 조선 중기 화담 서경덕과 토정 이지함이 중국의 烟波奇門法 을 바탕으로 삼고, 洪範五行의 원리를 기반으로 洪局數를 창제하여 독창적으 로 발전시킨 洪烟學을 기록한 조선의 문헌이다. 그럼에도 불구하고 이러한 사 실이 간과되고 있는 것은 안타까운 점이다. 일반적으로 알려져 있는 중국 奇門遁甲의 학문적 본질은 군사상의 占事豫 測學的측면의 兵法이므로 일반인이 활용하기 어려운 학문이다. 반면 홍연 진결은 중국의 기문둔갑에서 찾아볼 수 없는 홍국수를 활용하여 天文⋅地理 ⋅人事를 예측하므로 기문둔갑과는 차별화된 학문이다. 본연구에서는 홍연진결의 저술 배경을 알아보고, 홍국수 원리를 파악하 여 중국의 기문둔갑과는 차별화된 점을 살피고, 홍연진결에 수록된 내용 및 구성을 분류하여 고찰함으로써 우리나라만의 우수한 이론 및 특징과 한계성 을 살펴보았다. 아울러 홍연학은 洪局에 해당하는 홍국수, 八門, 八卦와 烟局 에 해당하는 六儀三奇, 九星, 八將으로 구성되어 있으므로 이러한 구성을 통 해 洪烟奇門으로 명명해야 하는 이유를 밝혔다. 연구 결과, 기존의 명리학이나 기문둔갑과는 달리 홍연진결은 홍국수를 중심으로 하여 天文, 地理, 人事까지 아우르는 종합적인 추리 방식으로 추리하는 진일보된 학문임을 알 수 있었다. 향후 이 논문이 한국식 기문둔갑 홍 연진결 연구에 자그마한 도움이 되기를 바란다.

The Hongyanjinjue(洪烟眞訣) is a mid-Joseon period historical document detailing the development of Hongyan studies(洪烟學) led by Hwadam Seo Gyeong-deok(徐敬德) and Tojeong Lee Ji-ham(李之菡.) Inspired by China's YanboQimemfa(烟波奇門法) and incorporating the philosophy of Hongfanwuxing( 洪範五行), Hongyan studies is unfortunately often mischaracterized as an imported form of Qimendunjia(奇門遁甲) from China. Qimendunjia, mainly used for military purposes, is esoteric and challenging for the general public. In contrast, Hongyanjinjue utilizes Hongjushu(洪局數), unique to Korea, predicting interpersonal relationships to avoid misfortune and seek fortune. It distinguishes itself as an academic discipline from Qimendunjia. Based on research results, Hongyanjinjue distinguishes itself as an advanced academic discipline that integrates astronomy, geography, and interpersonal relationships through a comprehensive reasoning method, unlike traditional Feng Shui or Qimendunjia. We look forward to seeing more active research on the Korean-style Qimendunjia presented in Hongyanjinjue in the future.
