The research is based on the existing statistic study, which is built upon oracle-bone inscriptions’components with different formats. The quantative statistics of oracle-bone inscriptions’components rested on the frequency of characters engraved on oracle bones is accomplished in this study for the first time. Further, the study compares the quantative statistics of oracle-bone inscriptions’components from the perspectives of characters’formats and frequency. Consequently, the study obtains more authentic information about the quantity of oracle-bone inscriptions’components. Aside from that, the study also reveals the phenomenon that the slow development of oracle-bone inscriptions is associated with the intensive apprearances of oracle-bone inscriptions’components at the highest frequency and the lowest frequency.
