Tang dynastic is the critical period that Kai-zi(楷字) developed from maturity stage to final settled stage. As a directive standard of the regulation of Chinese character in Tang dynastic, the study of Zi Yang Xue(字樣學) should be build on the reality of social using. As one of the excavated documents, stone inscription has several features, such as enormous amount, maintaining integrity of fonts, clear chronology, and is the most plentiful and reliable material object which keeping the form information of historical Chinese character. So, under the background of digitization, the contrast study of Zi Yang Xue(字樣學) and stone inscriptions, can bring about the important values and meanings to the study of Zi Yang Xue(字樣學) in Tang dynastic, history of middle Chinese characters, modern Chinese characters’ regulation. However, less attention had been paid to the study of Zi Yang Xue(字樣學) during past dynasties, the values has not been full played. Either contents and objects or way of thinking and methods, still remain to break through. Besides, the study of Zi Yang Xue(字樣學) in Japan, Korea and Tai-wan has their different features, so the previous research achievements should be integrated, contrast and unite, and learn from each other.
