This study, based on the perspective of disability paradox theory, aimed to examine the effect of social activity participation of people with mental illness on subjective life satisfaction and to verify the multiple mediating effects of disability acceptance and self-esteem in the process . The SPSS and PROCESS macro model 4 were applied to 264 people with mental illness from Disability and Life Dynamics Panel data. The key findings are as follows. Second, it was verified that self-esteem had a complete mediating effect on the relationship between social activity participation of people with mental illness and subjective life satisfaction, whereas disability acceptance did not have a mediating effect. Based on these results, the methods and suggestions for improving subjective life satisfaction and self-esteem of the mentally disabled were considered.
