본 연구는 2016년 「정신건강증진 및 정신질환자 복지서비스 지원에 관한 법률」의 전면 개정 이후 지역사회를 중심으로 확대되어온 정신장애인 자립지원과 관련한 연구경향을 분석하고, 이를 토대로 관련 후속연구의 방향을 모색하기 위해 수행되었다. 이를 위해 2017년부터 2024년까지 국내 등재학술 지(KCI)에 게재된 정신장애인 자립지원 관련 연구 16편을 선정하여 서술적 분석 및 주제별 분석을 실 시하였다. 먼저 서술적 분석의 결과를 살펴보면 관련 연구는 연도별로 꾸준하게 이루어졌고, 학술지 분야별 로 사회복지 분야가 전체의 56.2%로 가장 높게 나타났다. 또한 논문에서 주로 활용된 연구방법론은 질적연구방법이었으며, 질적연구의 주 대상자는 정신장애인 당사자였다. 다음으로 주제별 분석의 결과를 살펴보면 자립지원서비스 영역 중 주거지원의 효과와 경험에 대한 연구가 가장 많았고, 자립생활을 주요 변수로 다룬 연구의 경우 자립영역에 대한 통합적 서비스 지원 의 필요성과 서비스 현장의 욕구에 맞는 실무자의 다양한 실천 역량의 개발을 강조하였다. 이상의 연 구결과를 토대로 후속 연구의 방향성을 제언하였다.

This study aimed to analyze research trends related to the support for independent living for people with mental disabilities, particularly following the expansion of community-based services after the full revision of the Act on the Improvement of Mental Health and the Support for Welfare Services for Mental Patients in 2016. The objective was to explore future research directions through a descriptive and thematic analysis of 16 related studies published in KCI(Korea Citation Index) journals between 2017 and 2024. The descriptive analysis indicated a steady increase in publication trends over the years, with the field of social welfare representing the largest proportion of the selected articles(56.2%). In terms of methodology, qualitative research methods were predominantly used, and people with mental disabilities were frequently the primary participants. The thematic analysis revealed that among the various domains of independent living support services, studies focusing on the effects and experiences of housing support were the most common. Additionally, research that highlighted independent living as a central variable underscored the need for integrated service provision across different areas of independence. It also emphasized the development of diverse practical competencies among professionals to meet the needs of service settings effectively. Based on these findings, this study proposes future research directions aimed at enhancing the effectiveness and responsiveness of independent living support services for people with mental disabilities.
