In W. B. Yeats’s poetry, the ‘tree’ is not merely a natural object but a spiritual being endowed with divinity, serving as a significant image that the poet frequently employs. This paper examines how trees function as symbols in various poems by Yeats and explores their connection to his philosophical ideas. Influenced by diverse fields such as ancient mythology, theosophy, and occultism, Yeats constructed a unique poetic world in which trees played a crucial role from his early works onward. This study investigates the role of tree symbolism in Yeats’s poetry, analyzing how he artistically embodies his philosophy concerning the relationship between nature and humanity, the tension between ideals and reality, and the concept of timeless eternity.
