이 논문은 복합적 위기에 직면한 청년세대를 향한 한국교회의 선교적 한계를 성찰하고, 20세기 영적 지도자 방지일의 사역을 ‘소통’의 관점에서 재해석하여 MZ세대 선교 전략을 모색하는 데 목적이 있다. 본 연구는 방지일의 사역이 복음의 불변성을 유지하면서도 수용자의 맥락을 존중하는 ‘복음적 소통’의 혁신적 모델임을 규명한다. 그의 소통 신학은 삼위일체 하나님과의 관계성에 근거한 존재론적 실천으로 서, 하나님과의 소통, 철저한 자기 성찰, 그리고 이웃과의 동일화라는 삼중 구조를 지닌다. 특히 그의 사역에 나타난 탈권위적 태도, 상호 존중과 동행의 자세, 생명을 나누는 순교적 사랑은 자율성과 진정성을 중시하는 MZ세대의 문화적 특성과 깊이 상응한다. 또한 그는 잡지 발간과 이메일 등 시대적 매체를 적극 활용하여 복음의 접촉점을 확장하 였다. 결론적으로 본고는 방지일의 소통 원리를 청년 선교 현장에 적용하여, 세대의 언어로 복음을 재구성하는 ‘관계적 복음화’와 ‘선교적 우정’의 실천적 지표를 제시한다.

This study examines the Korean church’s missional limitations among the youth. It explores strategies for the MZ generation by reinterpreting Bang Ji-il’s ministry through ‘communication.’ This research identifies Bang’s ministry as an innovative ‘evangelical communication’ model that preserves the Gospel’s core while respecting the recipient’s context. Rooted in one’s relationality with the Triune God, his theology consists of three parts: listening to God, rigorous self-reflection, and identification with neighbors. His anti-authoritarianism and sacrificial love align with the MZ generation’s values of autonomy and authenticity. By utilizing contemporary media, Bang expanded Gospel contact points. This paper applies his principles to propose frameworks for ‘relational evangelization’ and ‘missional friendship’ for the contemporary generation.
