본 연구는 경험기반 해외대학 탐색 프로그램이 일본대학 진학을 고려하는 한국 고등학생들의 인식, 동기, 의사결 정 과정에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 준실험적 사전–사후 설계를 적용하여, 일본 현지 대학 탐방 프로그램 참여 전· 후의 양적 및 질적 데이터를 수집·분석하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 학생들은 현장 경험 → 인지적 정교화 → 의 미 구성 → 행동 계획의 발달적 과정을 거치며 보다 정확한 정보 이해, 진학에 대한 자신감 향상, 불안 감소, 진로 목표와 학업 경로의 명확한 정렬을 경험한 것으로 나타났다. 특히 프로그램 참여를 통해 학생들은 사교육 시장에서 제공되는 파편적·정보 중심적 조언을 넘어, 보다 발달적으로 정합적이고 자기주도적인 유학 의사결정 능력을 갖추게 되었다. 이러한 연구결과로부터 한국 사교육 체제의 구조적 한계를 드러내고 있음을 확인하였고, E-SIP 프레임워크 기반 경험기반 모델이 진학 의사결정의 질 제고, 유학 기회의 형평성 확대, 진정성 있는 글로벌 진로 탐색을 촉진하 는 교육적 가치를 지니고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구는 유학 준비 과정에서 적용 가능한 발달 메커니즘을 제안함 으로써 이론적 기여를 하며, 동시에 학교·정책기관·사교육 기관이 활용할 수 있는 확장 가능한 실천적 모델을 제시하 였다.

This study aimed to examine the impact of an experiential study-abroad information program on Korean high school students’ perceptions, motivations, and decision-making processes regarding Japanese university admission. Using a quasi-experimental pre–post design, the study collected quantitative and qualitative data from participants before and after engaging in a university exploration program in Japan. The findings show that students progressed through a developmental sequence of Experience → Cognitive Elaboration → Meaning Construction → Action Planning, resulting in more accurate knowledge, greater confidence, reduced anxiety, and clearer alignment between academic pathways and career goals. The program enabled students to outgrow the fragmented and market-shaped information typical of private tutoring and instead cultivate developmentally coherent and self-directed intentions for studying abroad. These outcomes highlight the structural limitations of Korea’s information-oriented private education system and demonstrate the value of experiential models, such as the E-SIP framework, in promoting informed decision-making, equity in study-abroad access, and authentic global career exploration. The study contributes theoretically by proposing a replicable mechanism for study-abroad readiness and practically by offering a scalable model that may inform schools, policymakers, and private education providers.
