This study was conducted to examine the mediating effects of engagement and positive affect in the relationship between optimism and achievement among lifelong educators. A total of 254 lifelong educators in K city were selected through convenience sampling between November 1 and December 30, 2025. Data were analyzed using SPSS and the PROCESS Macro, and the significance of indirect effects was rigorously tested by estimating 95% confidence intervals based on 5,000 bootstrap resamples. Results showed that levels of achievement, optimism, engagement, and positive affect among lifelong educators were higher than moderate. Significant positive correlations were found among achievement, optimism, engagement, and positive affect. In addition, engagement and positive affect were found to partially mediate the relationship between optimism and achievement. These findings suggest that engagement and positive affect function as important psychological factors that enhance achievement among lifelong educators.
