본 연구의 목적은 유아교육과 신입생을 대상으로 한 학기 동안 진행된 전공수업이 예비유아교사의 전공선택동기와 전공만족도에 미치는 효과를 분석하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 서울 소재 C대학교 유아교육과 1학년 22 명을 대상으로 15주간 「유아교육론」과 「영유아발달과 교육」 수업을 실시 하였으며, 학기 초와 학기 말에 설문조사를 실시하여 사전·사후 차이를 검증하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 전공수업 후 예비유아교사의 전공선택동기는 사전점수보다 향상되었으나 통계적인 유의차는 없었다. 이는 단기적인 교과 이수만으로는 이미 형성된 개인의 선택 동기를 근본 적으로 변화시키기에 한계가 있음을 시사한다. 둘째, 전공수업은 예비유 아교사의 전공만족도를 유의미하게 향상시키는 것으로 나타났다. 하위요 인 중 일반만족, 교과만족, 관계만족에서 통계적으로 유의미한 향상이 확 인되었으나, 인식만족에서는 유의미한 변화가 없었다. 이러한 연구결과는 대학 입문기인 1학년 시기의 전공수업이 예비유아교사의 전공 안착과 만 족도 향상에 핵심적인 역할을 수행한다고 볼 수 있다.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the effects of major courses conducted during the first semester on the major selection motivation and major satisfaction of pre-service early childhood teachers. For this purpose, Introduction to Early Childhood Education and Young Child Development and Education courses were conducted for 15 weeks for 22 freshmen in the Department of Early Childhood Education at C University. Pre- and post-test surveys were conducted to verify the differences between the beginning and the end of the semester. The results of the study are as follows. First, the major selection motivation of pre-service early childhood teachers improved after the major courses, but there was no statistically significant difference. Second, the major courses were found to significantly improve the major satisfaction of pre-service early childhood teachers. By sub-factors, statistically significant improvements were confirmed in general satisfaction, subject satisfaction, and relationship satisfaction, but no significant change was found in perception satisfaction, which refers to the social value of the major.
